We did a neat resto/update on this original owner D90 NAS truck a couple of years ago...back in for some electrical gremlins(go figure...Lucas electrics) and some fluid changes. Neat truck and this one is REALLY sorted out nicely. I try to like these trucks but as soon as I drive one, I lose interest.....I'll stick with FJs.

The quality of this build is due 100% to my guys. Hard to find guys that make quality the number one priority. True professionals.

Built up a nice exhaust with a HUGE muffler. Nothing too special or fancy....tucks up tight and should be plenty quiet which is my main priority.

So after a full 10 of no work on the 45(or on anything for that matter), we got back on it today. Exhaust stuff being built today as well as sorting out some deliveries that came in over the break. Got in these sweet new plugs for the injectors(they tend to get brittle and break). The black one is for a temp sensor I believe. 2 more coming in later this week for idle control valve one other sensor. So cool you can still buy all this stuff....if you know where to look.

Might as well buy an extra set of connectors and build a "kit" for my 2FE build. :notworthy:

Probably best to see what ones you will need first. Injectors are a given and those are fortunately easy to get. I'm not sure why we needed the other stuff....most likely due to them being either broken or deteriorated. I can send you over where we got our stuff....some of it was on Amazon Prime believe it or not. I think a lot of them were 2UZ and/or 2JZ stuff.

I wouldn't mind the connector info as well if you please. :) I already had one run in with a bad connector that was fun to try and fix.

Glad we could contribute to the 3FE community.....my favorite motor.

The fuel pressure regulator alone was a big big big help to everyone. Anyways, back to this awesome thread. Keep the drool worthy work and pics coming!

I was sitting in a 65 FJ40 yesterday that we are wrapping up for a customer and as I was looking around, I noticed how the column was mounted to the dash. We run the same 60/62 series box on this 40 with a modified column as we do on my LV.....in any event, I was in my LV today, dreaming of the day I would be driving it and noticed that my column was mounted differently than the 40.

Checked it against the 45 pickup and the bone stock 63/65 FJ40s we have in our storage building and sure enough, different from the LV. The other LV I have has the column exactly like mine.

Probably nothing of interest to anyone.

Does the dash sit higher on an LV? Is the angle of the steering column different?

At first I thought it was more about seating position but I'm not so sure about that now.....the column is fixed in these trucks, fixed to the steering box. Must be a dash difference requiring the mount to be flipped. The LV has a strap of metal welded to the dash that provides support for that mount as well. The other trucks don't have that piece.

We are back on it today.....wiring going on full tilt. Very very limited space under the dash for the ECU and the Dakota boxes(2 boxes on my truck...I went with their GPS speedometer setup). We've had to get creative with the mounting of things...

ECU is way up in the dash.....fuse box will sit in the center between the pedals facing down. You can make out the ECU in the top left corner.

My guy made a trick drop down panel which will house the 2 boxes for the Dakota. The Dakota boxes are tricky to deal with in cramped areas.....the way the wires are inserted don't make them easy to install....and they're somewhat bulky.

Obviously we'll finish out this panel and make it look like the rest of the stuff in the truck....

No need for a highbeam light on the dash(it will be in the gauges now).....so what better place to have a cool C2D logo.

Hmmmmm. My stock '64 LV has the column attached like the FJ40 and the dash also has the notch for the turn signal.

If I set it up like your LV I would seriously have to force my column down and that is with a 1/2" body lift.
