Picked up a bunch of goodies this week. Hard top, doors, rear jump seats, seat brackets, pedal box, windshield wiper mechanism, etc. Super pumped I could get it all in one swoop at a local builders shop.

Anybody know where I can get a double channel crank pulley for the Cummins B3.3?

I called the dealership, my specific engine doesn't show it as an option and the dealer cannot reverse lookup by engine to see all pulleys available.

Cliff Notes, I cannot find the part number for a double channel crankshaft pulley, Cummins B3.3. Please let me know if you know of one. Gracias

And I am realizing I bought the early style bug catcher doors. Dammit, finding weatherstripping is almost impossible.

I am going to have to make my own I guess. Anybody have a lead? Some guy named Robert was making some a year or so ago...

I'm working on a weatherstripping guide, but it's incomplete.

I know OEM is avail for my rear (76-80). Have you checked with Beno (mud name) at Lowe Toyota? Things like the early door vent window weather stripping is not avail but other is.

One thing I am also finding is that the top of the doors are missing the top channel for weather stripping, so they won't work for my hard top (only the earlier Corrugated tops). :-(

Here is the early style without the bug style window.

You should be able to replicate the top weatherstripping channel of a pre 75 door to allow it to seal to your newer hardtop. Or, you could get door tops from newer doors... Perhaps from some doors turned into 1/2 doors.

PM me if you need some photos of 1974 doors.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am just going to trade them out with the vendor I bought them from. He was nice enough to just swap with another pair.

I figure someone with an earlier resto will want them, I sure as hell don't want the trouble. Only reason I picked these over a period correct door was the simplicity and thinness of design.

Moving forward!

Found an accessory pulley by kenway engineering for the cummins b3.3 -- now I don't have to mess with the crank pulley for my power steering pump and A/C compressor (cummins dealers are NOT willing to help you install/find a crank pulley that is not spec'd for your build/VIN)

Many thanks to Scott @Eco Off Road for the help on the power steering pump and many other leads on parts.

Wow thanks, that looks like a great option. Since he is local, I might just have him build it fully and just pick it up on the trailer.

Let me know what you do for your cage, the Aqualu has the braces in the corners of the tub. Will you just have the cage shorten a bit? Metaltech has really cool stuff.

The cage will go in after the panels and tub come back from paint, and I'm a few months away from that -- as I've decided to do a rough fitment of the entire car and plumb the major stuff beforehand.

I am already finding this to be a good decision, as things like hinges and such are not just "bolt together." One thing that is annoying is the aftermarket to aftermarket fitment of some basic parts (as the aftermarket stuff is sometimes less expensive/stainless steel/etc.).

December is dedicated to figuring out how to stop and go (gas/brake/fuel tank/lines/clutch line/etc). I have all the parts and tools, now its time to get to work.

Now that I have the A/C compressor, I have figured out the pulley system.

Got my stuff back from sand blasting:

Thats it for now.

Props to Mark at Cruisercrap.com for the vintage air hookup and exact v-band pulley for my cummins (17mm).

Interesting project.

I would not drive the alt and p/s pump off the waterpump the way you have sketched for outer belt ^^ Waterpump bearings will not be happy long term.

So you'd drive them (alt and hydro) from the flywheel I assume?

I would be more than happy to put the alternator on the flywheel circuit, but with the addition of A/C (with only one place it will fit), I pretty much have to do two (2) circuits. Add to the fact that Cummins is being very unhelpful (ie. won't look it up, won't sell me one from another engine) selling me a double channel flywheel pulley, I am restricted to running it off the water pump.

I have been scratching my head for days on this problem, I think this is the best/attainable solution with my fabrication constraints, although obviously not ideal.

I am going to use some tension rods on the top plate, and a second going from the engine to the bottom of the A/C compressor (acting like a kickstand). It will be acting as a tension pulley, so I it will be fun getting it to work.

Some thoughts:
-You might not know it, but something as small as finding the right pulley (5VX560, Corrugated V-belt, 5/8" top width, 56" circumference) feels like a small victory.
-Amazon Prime has saved me a few nickels, shipping is a killer from all these odd resellers.
-I need to find a Diesel lift pump, biodiesel rated. Any recommends?
-The plasma cutter is scary
-Bought a new air compressor. Two stage 80 gallon behemoth. Sand blasting is taxing.

Moving forward!
