Thinking of doing my 80 with a classic look with orange lower and roof and white center.

That white looks pretty darn white. Any ideas of what to do? Should I tint, or get one of the off white colors.

Oh, yeah, making my 80 a convertible (well roadster).... Someone asked me "why I was doing it" the other..... some people just don't get it.

I think that the pig is in cyrus white.

Thanks,

I know you guys struggle with this because we only offer the pure white
Does anyone have something to send me on this Cygnus white?
A chip, some leftover paint from a regular paint job, dried up dripping down the side of a paint can label? If I can see it I'll figure something out.

I'll see what I have, talked to you before about it, but I just mixed my own up. I posted my first attempt, up the thread, turned out nice. I'm waited on two gals. now, so I can do the inside of the body.

Magnetman,

Is the paint code enough for you to mix something up?

Thanks 2Fpower

Codes are no good and Unfortunately even the formulas are no good unless we had the same liquid color concentrates from what ever paint company published the formula. Every company liquid pigments are different strength.
We will have to match it from whatever we get in our hands

I purchase an auto paint chip page even on ebay when I can't find stuff

I'm PMing with 2Fpower on this now. Will def get it done, just have to obtain a sample either wet or dry

Here is another link. Several people commented how close it was. Ace hardware paint.

My purpose of posting this is so that you can get a quart made and know what it looks like... Again, I want your product, just in our color.

ACE Rust-Stop paint formulas

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I thought I would start a thread for people to post the mix formulas for Toyota colors that they had color-matched in ACE Rust-Stop paint. This thread is for mix formulas ONLY; there are several other good threads if you want to discuss ACE paint in general.

Back in post 141 I offered to buy a quart of Olive 653 if you make it.

Let me sweeten the deal by offering to send you a piece of original-paint metal in that color. It is part of the dash pad mount, so it never saw the light of day until earlier this year.

I'm sorry I still can't do that. Making a new color in Monstaliner involves 3 - 4 days worth of work. First matching with no catalyst, adding catalyst which alters color and then adjusting the match. Allowing it to dry naturally over 24 hrs minimum and then checking it again for color shift and adjusting if needed

I offered to do this with Cygnus white because many people have asked and it would involve more than selling a single quart. Monstaliner is never going to be something that we can take orders for and match a single quart or even a gallon for any one person.

Mangetman, I'm spraying Cygnus White Monstaliner today, I'll make a paint chip for you. I don't have any body panels, that are clean enough to send you.

The color I have is just the color no binders, etc. Is that alright. I'll put it on an index card.

Just thinking, If anybody is waiting for a certain color, it's not hard at all to mix your own. Take the color code to the paint store, get a quart with no binders and mix it with the tintable Monstaliner.

8oz. of color tint to the gallon.

Worked good for me.

I think this is a better set.

The color Cygnus white was made for several years on different landcruisers. Chart here says 70-75 was key time, but I thought roof was always Cygnus white.

There is also nice reference at ccot.

here is my choice of ebay auction.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-TOYOTA...anuals_Literature&hash=item3f28365715&vxp=mtr

this on ebay is larger chips and says complete. It says pm him to make sure the color is there, but if it is complete, should be there.

I gotta run , headed to airport

Color/no binder on a card is no good. If you have extra color save it for me please.
I'll pay to get some from you next week
