LOL... no worries that actually works pretty well there. Gives me an idea of what the truck will look like as I plan to do a 2.5" lift.

What order do I do this in? I'm planning to paint the floor inside my 60 with custom mixed Toyota 033 white tinted monstaliner. I also want to paint the rocker panels up a little higher than the factory paint job and paint a chip guard lip on the hood with monstaliner. I'm also going to paint the entire exterior original 033 white with automotive paint. So do I monstaliner, then top coat with automotive paint? Do the paint job, then the monstaliner details? (if so, is the color match likely to be that dead on?)

For the exterior I would do the automotive paint job first then do the liner secondly. Since you are using the 033 Toyota code pigment you should be pretty much a dead on match.

Check out Reevesci's paint job he did on Blue Marley in the 60 section and you will see what I am talking about. However, he did not do the Toyota color.

Here is my attempt to color tint the Monstaliner. First the doghouse was sprayed with Lizard Skin sound deadner, which is black. Second I sprayed it with Cruisercorps Cygnus White in a can. It covered the black pretty good. Last I sprayed the color tinted Monstaliner, two good coats.

I found out, while spraying the headliner, white tinted Monstaliner doesn't cover over black Lizard Skin too well. I believe the rough texture had alot to do with it.

When I do the inside floor, I'll use the White Lizard Skin, which is the ceramic insulation. That way, I won't have to paint it before I spray the Monstaliner.

Pictures! The painted apron, was painted over 6 years ago and I don't have any information on it. I just gave the paint store the Cygnus code and this is what I got. Not too bad.

Here's the inside of the roof.

It has: One coat Zero Rust
Two coats Lizard Skin Sound deadner
Two coats Lizard Skin Ceramic Insulation
Four coats tinted Monstaliner

I'm Done!

Request: photos of vehicles done in Red Head

I'm having a really difficult time deciding on a colour. I have a mica pearl 80 series with badly peeling clearcoat and tons of scratches. I've been leaning toward a deep dark orange colour, but I found the Dk Burnt Orange to be too light. I'm thinking of doing the bottom, flares, grille and maybe bumpers in Pyroclastic.

Any photos of vehicles done in Red Head?

Here's my Cruiser as it currently looks:

Also, I heard Monstaliner was working on metallic colours. When are we going to see this? Any photos of standard tintable Monstaliner with metallic colouring?

Nobody has used "Red Head"? No answer to my metallic colour question?

I have the same color 80 as yours and Blood Bath is a direct match. That's what I'm going with.

Anyone know how many gallons it will take to cover an 80? 2 or 3 to be safe? Idk and don't wanna get 2/3 through the job & find out I don't have enough.

I'm still leaning toward "Red Head", but it's so hard to tell from a one inch square paint chip.

Pretty sure that MM answered the 80 series question somewhere along the way but I think the answer was 3 minimum. I know most have gotten away with 2 gallons on our 60s but the 80 is a bit bigger.

Any suggestions of any way to line the door handles without removing?

No, I'm not lazy, but the interiors of the doors are all already done and it'd take an eternity to remove and replace.

Just a thought, but what about masking the handles and then rolling the rest of the door. After that, why not just use a porous sponge on the handles and be very meticulous with it. I think it could work and leave the clearances for your handle to still work properly.

Would a quart be enough to do the roof of an 80? I removed the roof rack and fixed some rust/ holes that were left behind and would like to use monstaliner to refinish. I am thinking hatch to windshield frame, gutter to gutter since the paint is shot anyway.

Measure the rectangle, quart cover 15 sq ft in 2 coats
You can stretch it some if you don't waste any

Well s***.. just made the mistake of going over to the Jeepforum that has shots of people doing their rigs with Monstaliner. Of course there are other vehicles in there and came across a first gen Tacoma (I think) that the owner did the entire exterior in Midnight Special (one of the colors I grabbed but thought was too blue).

Job came out great and the color is very nice, subtle dark blue. Plus there is a rig on that same page that was done in all Pyroclastic (dark gray) and it looks good to but feeling that the grays are not for me.

Unfortunately, with winter coming (said with an Eddard Stark accent) I am going to have to put this off until next spring. Hoping to do my suspension freshen up next month and get some new panels welded in where rust is bad.

Lol, nice!!
