Between packing the house and cleaning I was able to set aside some gear for the trip. I got some really cool lanterns and a propane stove and a folding hibachi from Amazon.

I changed my oil/filter, and tightened my exhaust. I got a second Jerry can and a holder for my swing out gate. I had to move the locking mechanism, which I never liked anyway.

The thud sound was not the body mount. Turns out the driver rear shock was loose. I haven't gotten it fixed because I ran out of day light. I did most of my work by the light of my new lanterns. Heh.

I also got a cigarette port and dual usb faceplate to charge all my electronics. I still use a cell phone for my speed and a Bluetooth speaker for music. My fuel gauge situation is aggravating. I didn't realize GM went to a new ohm rating and nobody offers a gauge to fit it. I read what lil jon went through. I bought a 240-33 gauge and it will just read close but in reverse. Its a temp fix until i get my speedhut set. Maybe ill instal it upside down and sharpie a new F and E on it. I usually just guess how much gas i have but that could be dangerous on this trip.

Tuesday. I was going to leave about noon and get 8 of the 12 hours done, and do the last 4 early Wednesday. There are a lot of things going on so I'm not sure if I can leave that early. We will see.

I am going to lose a lot of points. My rat-rod piggy runs on hopes and dreams mixed in with finger spliced wires and duct tape.

I know exactly what you mean...any time I start to get weighed down by it, I tell myself 2 things; it don't matter, it don't matter my children love me but they don't understand, and I got a woman who knows her man, it don't matter, it just don't matter, drive on...AAAAAAND to bring it back around I like to round it off with this one...https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...AA2L4Q&usg=AFQjCNE5VRGHCWL2Eqwq_ZxYQFi-ybRxSw

I am mostly packed. Got all the camping gear in just need to figure out the clothes part. I made a jack mount in front. I'm not a fam of the jack being outside but it's a 60 in and I can't put it anywhere else.

Here is the gas can holder.

Sitting at work and all i can think about is my pig. I thought that the 6 day bender and nearly 2000 miles would satisfy my want/need to drive or fiddle with it. It has not. I made a list of the things i want to do soon but that's really all i can do. I exceeded my gas budget, probably because i was scouring the San Juan mountains with a V7. Most of the mods i think would make this pig a lot more user friendly will cost money. I cant just wheel the welder over and lay some beads. Not only the budget issue, but my time is at a premium as of late. Work is ridiculous and in 9 days i will be moving the most sh*t i have ever moved before. So here is my list. I hope i can check some off soon.

Maintenance
New spark plugs and oil
new collector gaskets
new tube rockers
Fix roof rot
Driver window register

Comfort
Reroute exhaust to outside frame on driver side. Retain dual exhaust but side by side with a dual inlet muffler. (hot as bawls)
Weld/fab heat shields on new exhaust. (still hot as bawls)
Dynamat and carpet floor. leave cargo area bed lined.
Get A/C working
Add second blower motor and route tubes for defrost. (it rained in Flagstaff and i needed to wipe windshield every 30 seconds)
Add door cards and head liner. insulate roof and doors.

Performance
improve filler neck (cant fill the tank to the top)
Enclosed air cleaner and utilize the cowl induction hood.
I think i want a inline fuel cooler.
Reroute secondary transmission cooler near transmission where the exhaust is now. Add electric fan. (I want to free up airflow at radiator)

...yes, cup holders too.

I have done exactly zero of those items. But I did spend the first night in the new house. I really like it but my wagon is still at old house and I miss it. Today we move my garage.. eek.

Here is a video from last Sunday. I got saved by my step and my bumper at the end.

I need to do a knuckle rebuild. I see kits for 69-75 and 75 and up. I assume this is for the large pattern style. If this is the case, then that would mean the only thing I can't use from the kit would be the shims?

Ha! Gonna give your lady a heart attack!

Got a descent start on the brakes.

You can see the original holes along with the added ones for the current booster.

Making yet more holes. I am going to fill the old this weekend.

We are going to cut the rod and tap it to receive the current clevis. It's 10mm 1.25 thread.

Since we had some time we needed to address the manifold leak. It was leaking oil out of the back pretty bad. There was also a leak in the middle driver side cylinders. Oil and air was getting sucked in to the head.

The heads and manifold were straight and everything looks toight.

There was a lot of sludge on the manifold and valve covers. Used to cans of brake cleaner. It doesn't look perfect but way better.
