So here's what's holding up progress. I spent quite a while searching for an applicable 1988 wiring diagram. Towards the end of that search I realized even if the wires go to some non US model accessory, I'm going to fix it anyway.

On these I think the best bet is to replace the male and female connector. I could get it out of the bundle far enough to reach.
The grounds will just butt splice together into a single ring.

These guys will all have to have a jumper wire spliced in. Waiting on some small heat shrink to get them done. At least the bundle was able to pull into engine bay.

No doubt, it was definitely a more efficient process to not mix in isopropyl alcohol...just brush the crushed dry ice to the next area while you chip the frozen stuff off. By the time you're done chipping, the next area is frozen and ready to move the ice and keep chipping. A little sandbag would be a good tool to help hold the ice against the curves.

Got the replacement rear window and chrome locking trim installed today. Actually installed the glass a couple of days ago. Thanks to @mel lowe for the window and quick ship.

Tackled the passenger side wiring tonight. got the contours pretty close, put a butt splice on each end, heat shrink over each splice, then cherry tape over the top with a spot tie at the end.
Every time before I crimp...before I put the butt splice on...before I strip the wire....when I'm getting the tools out...a mantra...'don't forget the heat shrink'. I forgot once and it just happened to be on a Navy 18...shore hanger, not on the boat but still..

Very clean. Mice, I assume? Pm me if you need the blue connector I probably have it

Thanks. I think some were mice and some were PO. The courtesy door front switches were both cut, the AI VSV was clipped, maybe from not being able to find the chewed wires...who knows. Two of the passenger ones (greens with black and red stripe) that were chewed came from the distributor for emissions computer and tach or AC Amplifier. I've traced every mm of the bundle...this is the bad list
Passenger front courtesy door switch wire
2 ground wires on passenger pillar
Passenger front courtesy light wire
2 distributor green wires
1 Orange wire feeding into computer
Blower motor resistor ground wire
4 driver's side pillar grounds
Driver front courtesy door switch wire
5 pin blue connector, unknown

I'm just going to put in a new male/female connector for the blue connector. Thanks for the offer. Thats a nice lineup of cruisers you have there. One of my thoughts if this turned into a parts rig was I could 2FE my 60. I like the thought of that setup.

Wire repair is finished, what a PITA. I decided there was enough wire to use the blue connector instead of replacing. There are a couple random splices by the tail lights that need to be checked out but the main harness is good.

Driver's side vacuum tubing and VSV bank completed. Had to splice a new AI VSV in as someone had clipped the wires off for some reason.

Where did you get the red vacuum lines? Did you just get a roll and cut lines to fit, or was it a kit for your 62. I have a 60 in dire need of vacuum line replacement.

Nice work on resurrecting that 62!!

Did you see the guy above question? Where’d you get the red hose? He must be newish...

Yeah... newish. Thanks for the greeting old-timer. Forgive my inquiry. I'll go back to just silently stalking and hoping a boolean search will reveal the answer. :slap:
Shhh, I’m busting you and I take liberties as I’m one of few women (and old timer) in this primarily mans forum. I thought he might not see your question because it became part of his quote. I’ve done it myself where I’ve mistakenly deleted part of what quotes the previous persons type. That’s it. The ‘newish’ was deliberate sarcasm. ;)

Boolean search should turn up McMaster Carr for vacuum tubing

What’s with all this self control? Most of us cruiser guys would have tried starting it on day one, old gas, and oil, then tried driving with a Home Depot bucket as the seat.

:hillbilly::hillbilly:

Either way, super motivating watching you restore this thing to its former glory days. Can’t wait to see more progress. An Fj62 is on my list for sure. Keep it up!

Here are the part numbers for the hose. Keep asking away, search can get frustrating. I used 6mm for the 60 (supposed to be 5.5) so I ordered 5mm to see how it fit. The silently stalking cracked me up this morning...good stuff.

Now that you have the blue connector wired up you can turn the accessory switch on on the ignition and plug and unplug and see what it works.
Good call. Thanks.
The next plan of action is to jumper the fuel pump relay (pins +B and Fp on the diagnostic port I believe), and pump clean gas and cleaner through the line..the fuel filter is out so we will see if the pump works and how much it pumps.
