Driver's side vacuum tubing and VSV bank completed. Had to splice a new AI VSV in as someone had clipped the wires off for some reason.

Man what I’d give for the weather you have out there for comfortable wrenching. Today it will be a gorgeous 56 but other than a sponge wash I won’t get much done on the truck.
You are a machine... everyday it’s another thing. That truck is sure lucky it got save by you!

Thanks Felicity, yep, the weather is very nice. Doesn't help get the snowboard season started though.

I've been keeping a daily log of hours and work completed. From day of payment and receipt of key, November 15th, we have put in about 96 man hours to get this where it is today. A lot of that has been cleaning. Still don't know if it runs, the previous checks all warranted proceeding.
Work left to complete before trying to fire it up...
Drain gas from tank, I pulled the fuel level sender and got a look inside the tank. There is still quite a bit of gas in the tank, kind of a surprise and kind of a good thing. It would have been bad news if there was a couple of gallons that turned to jell over the years. It looked pretty good inside. I dumped a few bottles of seafoam into the tank and have been shaking the cruiser about 8 to 10 times a day. I told my son, every time he passes through the garage he needs to shake it for a while. Tomorrow or the next day, I will drain the tank and make a call at that time whether it needs to be dropped or not.
Pull fuel filter and blow out line, I need to grind down one of my wrenches to make it thin enough to fit.
Wire repair, waiting on a 5 pin connector to arrive, total bummer...will post pics.
Button transmission back up and fill, waiting on a strainer and pan gasket.
Reinstall gauge cluster, have to finish wire repair first (good thing that was part of my Navy rating)
---getting there---

Hehe, now that's going to be playing in my head when I'm out there doing the 'Cruiser Shake'.

Looking real good dude! Jealous that you can spend this much time tinkering.
I'm loving it for sure, cruiser heaven.

After all the scrubbing and power washing, the sound deadener still had a funky odor...kind of like an old tractor barn...so we picked up some dry ice and got after it.

Wow, I can tell this isn't your first rodeo, great job.

Nice work!

Thanks, first time ever removing dampener with dry ice. It was strangely gratifying. Very fun for sure.
