And that’s unloaded for me… I easily add another 800 lbs of junk inside the truck and don’t even get me started on the offroad trailer…

When I was in Buena Vista for a week I had half a mind to drive up to the shop and check it out. In hindsight I guess we should have.
You should have! It would’ve been great to see you!

@ohsix , @ikarus , @lelandEOD, would any of yall mind grabbing a picture of how you've routed your heater T's for the rear heater if you still have it? Thanks. Winter is about here, and I hate it lol.

Does that 1FZ run that much hotter than the 1HD? I pulled the rear heater, and it still gets so hot in my 80 that I can't imagine needing the rear heater. I also don't have a 3rd row anymore. And also the coldest weather I've been in, in the last two years was 15* and a dusting of snow so there is that too.

My 1fz ran around 195ish, the HOTTEST my 1hdfte has gotten is 175. But it usually runs around 165. Plus I need to remove my dash and fix some of the blend doors/actuators I think im getting a mix of outside air still.

I just need the volume from the rear heater to get the cab nice and toasty quicker.

Especially when im in the mountains.

Sorry, can't help ya, I removed my rear heater. Here are some pics of the stock setup before I removed it if that helps -

Huge help! Thank you! The RH side is pretty simple, the LH is whats hard to figure out lol.

You can polish a s***box. Just be sure to stand at the perfect angle, from 10 feet back, with low lighting. 🤣

The hagerty rep will probably laugh like hell as he declines my application for coverage at the amount I want. 🤣

Yeah, mine looks like Ikarus'.

If you're not able to get your coolant temps above 165° I'd be looking for a lower T-stat. That seems a little on the cold side. Mine stays at 179° pretty consistently. If I'm pulling hard up an interstate grade in the summer I will see 200° but these engines are generally cold-blooded.

I agree, it pretty much rides around 165-170

Highway driving with my foot in it, itll reach 175, and generally hovers around it.

I have a trip to Moab next month, ill see how it does up and over I-70, even climbing to Eisenhower tunnel it stayed around 175 if I remember correctly.

Ill add it to my partsouq shopping cart. 😅

Check out this diagram for RHD: Heating & air conditioning - water piping for Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ81V-RNPGW, 01.1995 - 01.1998 - Toyota Japan Car and Auto Spare Parts - Genuine Online Car Parts Catalogue - Amayama - https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/toyota-japan/land_cruiser/HDJ81V/107436/engine/8716

And this one for LHD: Heating & air conditioning - water piping for Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ80L-GNMEWW, 01.1995 - 01.1998 - Toyota Europe Car and Auto Spare Parts - Genuine Online Car Parts Catalogue - Amayama - https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/toyota-europe/land_cruiser/HDJ80L/4781/electric/8716

The LHD diagram is different from the RHD but the part numbers are the same.

Maybe @logicbyondreaso can help you, he has a LHD diesel with a rear heater.

You should be able to get the whole assembly for the right side, and the hoses on the left are available. The only one that might be tricky is the 87208-60320 hardline, showing out of stock. Dave at Japan4x4 might be able to get it though.. Impex also shows that you can order it but they've been wrong before.

If you can't find it anywhere let me know and I'll look through all my old parts. I doubt I would have thrown it away.

@Mag71k5 does this photo help for the hose routing including the rear heater? I have not removed mine.

Thanks @MooseMichaels , no rush, but would you mind getting a close up of the LH rear heater core pipe, the one that comes out of the firewall, and how the hoses off of it are routed. Thats what im trying to figure out.

Also, first start this weekend?
