No new Land Cruiser content, but I do have random fall pictures!

Shorty and I went for a walk down to our secret beaver pond.

Driving up to the trail we walk on:

Walking, found a hawk. I caught a cell phone shot of it sitting on a branch. It was a big bird when it flew.

Arrived at the pond:

We found an old row boat. It has been a crazy dry year... this would normally be under water:

We went home and fired up the wood stove. The secondary burn on this thing really works. I wish that I could open it up more when beginning the burn. But, once it's hot, it burns really efficiently. I can heat the cabin for a night on just 4 or 5 pieces of wood:

Caught, maybe, the last fish of the year:

@Lumpskie great build and love the fun you are having.

Did you finish up the heater/cooler seat install? I bought a set of the fan/cooler/heaters from Cam as well and about to start the installation process. I'll be having an upholstery shop add perforated leather so super excited.

Where did you end up mounting the switches?

I am doing this on my FJ62 - so it will be a little different than your build.

Great timing! I was just talking with a local upholsterer today. All the shops here are so busy, it's hard to get an appointment. I have the OEM seat heater switches in the center console so I am planning on installing the new switches in there.

If you beat me to the install... post up some pictures over here. And I, of course, will do the same.

I finally got on a shop's schedule into install leather an seat heater/coolers... looking at dropping it off on May 3rd. (vendors are crazy busy out here)

Also, I just found out that there is an exhaust brake available for diesel Land Cruisers... feel free to make fun of me but I think the idea is cool!

I haven't wrenched on my rig much... but I did buy a tipi hot tent and I like it. I put it up, lit the wood stove and listened to coyotes off in the distance. Was a cool experience.

Trying not to get to hot tent focused here, but we had an exciting night the other night. We ended up camping in the yard and a major wind storm came through. I happened to be filming when 2 big trees came down in the yard!

Here are the trees as we found them the next day:

Actually did a little on the Cruiser.

1. My Airdog lift pump was leaking so I put new o rings in it

Pulled the front bumper off... the powdercoat was peeling back and it was rusting. It is really clear that I didn't get the 2 stage powder that I paid for. Bummer. Going to another place to strip it, blast it, zinc infused primer it, color coat it (Darker gray), and put a clear on it.

My buddy Pat helped me out. His truck as an 80 series front axle under it... so I consider him a fellow Cruiser owner.

Still waiting on the powder coat backorder. But, I got to show how the superflex arm performs to my buddy on the old "flex rock".

Bumper is back from powder coat. I like the darker color... I think it cleans up the look of the front end. I got the fairlead redone in black and an endcap of my winch done in gray as well.

So, I have been fighting a leaking Airdog lift pump. I replaced the end connectors, then the internal o rings. I still leaked. Finally, I gave them a call. I actually got connected to an engineer who noted the serial number (very early number) and wondered if the pump might be leaking from the weep hole. I hadn't thought of it but I have put almost 75,000 miles on this rig and the lift pump was on there when I bought it... At any rate, I ordered a new pump motor assembly and promptly got it in the mail. On disassembly, the signs pointed to exactly what was discussed. I saw discoloration at the weep hole:

Really, I don't know why this didn't occur to me earlier. I don't know of a water pump that isn't supposed to be replaced in 75,000 miles. Why would I expect a lift pump to last longer? Long story short, it was a quick job and everything is back in the Cruiser. Not a drop on the ground so far.

And, even covered in pollen, I am still digging the new color of the front bumper.
