Can I make a suggestion!

I see a lot of door pockets, broken. They crack rather easy along top edge, from over stuffing and or impact. If your inner pocket was extended forward. Then cup holder designed to hang on inner pocket. In a way, that takes strain off door pocket. Carrying cup holder weight, and transferring any impact shock to inner back of door pocket.

The part that goes inside of the door pocket actually "hooks" around the bottom of the plastic stiffer that runs inside the door pocket, and extends back rearwards (like towards the driver) 15mm or so. The intent is that it spreads the load evenly - and especially with it being so close to the front of the pocket, that hopefully will keep everything stiff & prevent the deflection that would crack anything.

Thoughts?

Sounds like you've already considered and taken load off door pocket. I should have known!

For the people trying to find a replacement option for the drop down cup holder release. I had a buddy scan and 3-D print a replacement part and it works perfect. Thought I would share the .STL file if anyone else wants to give it a go. Full disclosure, I know nothing about 3-D printing or design so I can't really answer any questions. But he said that anyone with a 3-D printer can drop the .STL file in and just hit print with little to no adjustments (depends on the printer they are using). File attached, pics for reference are of the broken part I glued back together so he could scan it easier. Anyway, hope this helps somebody🤙

Could you make these for us?

Have you considered a blanking plate or mount for those who want to delete the flip down rear entertainment screens? .. Mine is just taking up space. would love to remove it or convert it to store sunglasses or something useful.

I actually did this way back on the first page! (Lumberjack Engineering: Exquisitely Engineered solutions for the 100 Series Platform. - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/lumberjack-engineering-exquisitely-engineered-solutions-for-the-100-series-platform.1357419/post-15877306)

It depends on which rear entertainment system you have. I have the 'true' factory system from Lexus, which is what my storage insert is designed for. There's a handful of them out there though!

I have that one!.. it is in a 2004 Land Cruiser.. where do I buy that insert. ?
Shoot me a message! I believe I've got one of those sitting on the shelf from all the way back then. There's a video a couple posts down from that original post that walks through the install process - you'll need some sidecutters and then some felt to cover up the inside of the OEM 'lid'.

Just as an FYI - I got mine in this week and popped it on. Works great and is wife approved! Nice job man
Awesome to hear!

@LJE i was wondering if it may be possible to print new end caps for the Yakima jet stream that integrates a small light.

Base end-cap linked below.

It's been a while since I've done any new 100 series products (4th gen 4Runner market has been keeping me busy!), but I'm coming back around! At least for a while. There's a GX470 that needs an engine in my driveway, so I'll start designing products for it here soon...

Anywyas - first up on the docket is the 100 series variant of my NIGHTHAWK chase light housings - these replace the 3rd brake light in either the body or spoiler (depending on the variant). This is still early on in the design process for the body-mount variant:

That's a pair of Baja S2 (or the Amazon AKD clones) and a 7.5" brake light in the middle. It'll also have an underslung Wolfbox camera mount as well.

It's still pretty ugly at the moment, but it'll be sleeker when it's all done! For reference, here's what the 4th Gen 4Runner versions look like in the real world - spoiler version on top, body mount version below.

Curious to see how much interest I get in this!

I like that solution A LOT. The key is going to be the sealing gasket/material.
I think many people would prefer to replace their cracked OEM with something more useful
than the Chinese counterpart to OEM.

The incorporation of a Wolfbox rear camera is a huge upgrade.

Way ahead of ya! There's a foam gasket tape that goes around the opening in the hatch, and then the light housing is a two-piece design.

The rear plate seals against this gasket, and then all wire penetrations through the rear plate get sealed with tight fitting grommets.

The design requirement here is ZERO water into the rear hatch - I achieved that with the 4th gen 4runner design, and I'm confident I can do it here too!

I'm onboard!

Needing to replace my third and looking to move my wolfbox camera outboard.
I do like my LJE rear camera interior mount though, but a seamless outboard mount is better.

Funny you should mention that...

I've apparently done too good of a job of keeping everything tucked as tight as possible to the hatch, and there's no room for the camera underneath - it'd have to sit super far forward:

So, I think I may make his home on top of the housing - thoughts? Obviously it'll get integrated a little more seamlessly than this... but, it's the general idea.

It sticks up about as far as the stock black spoiler would, so nothing crazy.

Looks like a great solution.
I have confidence that the final rendition will be stellar.

Question for ya: would this allow for 3rd party cameras to be mounted? I have a reverse camera that I mounted to my license plate border, and I would love to relocate it in a more "factory" spot, or even put my dashcam camera in there.
