Question for ya: would this allow for 3rd party cameras to be mounted? I have a reverse camera that I mounted to my license plate border, and I would love to relocate it in a more "factory" spot, or even put my dashcam camera in there.
It's definitely going to be the Wolfbox camera only (this one & the one that comes with the G900 Pros): https://www.amazon.com/WOLFBOX-Upgraded-Camera-G840S-Waterproof/dp/B09KRM9QQ5/?tag=ihco-20

More progress... Starting to look more integrated! Trying to fit hardware around the perimeter of the light is a challenge.

How would this work and look with the MSS-L Spoiler with chase lights? Trying to visualize it all together.

It's an either/or situation. For folks that didn't have a stock black plastic spoiler & don't want to drill the 4x holes necessary (if they didn't have a spoiler), this is an option!

Some more progress - it may not look like much from the outside, but it's all clearanced to perfectly* hug the body now.

Here's that rear mounting plate I was talking about - this is what seals to the hatch, and the wire/hardware penetrations then get tight-fitting grommets.
I still need to add the mounting provisions for the front housing, and the wire penetration for the Wolfbox camera & grommet.
The bracket on either side for the pod lights are separate pieces - these are the only thing that change out to fit the actual Baja S2 or the AKD amazon clones.

...Anyways - first up on the docket is the 100 series variant of my NIGHTHAWK chase light housings - these replace the 3rd brake light in either the body or spoiler (depending on the variant). This is still early on in the design process for the body-mount variant:

Curious to see how much interest I get in this!
I'm in.

It's still pretty ugly at the moment, but it'll be sleeker when it's all done! For reference, here's what the 4th Gen 4Runner versions look like in the real world - spoiler version on top, body mount version below.

What if you moved the center piece more forward or flush with the S2 like bottom pic. Then you can place the Wolfbox underneath.

Will these dot style brake light be an option as well?

First prototype is done! Finalizing adjustments now and I'll start rolling on the production versions.

These will be priced at $210 - that includes the housing, rear mount plate, all stainless hardware, new foam gasket tape, the center brake light (not shown installed in the photos).
You'd just need to bring your pod lights (Baja S2 or the AKD Amazon version) and your Wolfbox camera.

These will be live on the site in the next couple days! 'mud members will get first dibs on Batch #1, so shoot me a message if you're interested so I can send you guys the link first.

do you know if this will fit with the cut-out spoiler (hatch-mounted 3rd brake light) on the early 100's?

@Scotty UZJ100 is correct - it won't fit with the spoiler still on.

(that's what the MSS-L is for!)

Done.

These will be up on the new website later today (once @MongooseGA gets a couple things sorted), so if you haven't reached out to me yet for first dib on Batch 1 as a 'Mud member, you'd better do so soon!

Batch 1 will be about 10 units, and should get half of those shipped out Monday, the other half Thursday when I get back from a work trip. Batch 2 (which will include the version without the camera mount) will immediately start rolling then, so if you're not ready now it's not a big deal! I just like doing these in batches to make sure I can get orders shipped out timely once I take someone's money.

I'm still in. Haven't decided whether or not to ditch the rear spoiler entirely (or go to the MSS-L), but this definitely seems like the way I want to go with the 3rd brake light

One without the chase lights would be sick. Definitely could see something like that being popular with all of the third brake lights seals that seem to fail

This looks awesome! How does the gasket/seal work? Seems like a lot more surface area to seal.

Actually, not with the way I designed it! Everything (with the exception of the camera) mounts to this rear main plate shown in CAD below - it seals around the perimeter, just like the OEM brake light. Then all penetrations through this plate for hardware or wires get sealed with tight-fitting rubber grommets, resulting in a watertight plate. The front housing (what you see) is really just there for looks - the structure and waterproofing is all going on 'behind the scenes'.

That’s my fear! The oem seal is horrible 😂

Hahaha- for what it's worth, since the foam gasket tape I provide is stiffer than the original seal, I also design in these 'toggle locks' (red arrows) - you put the chase light rear mount plate in place, secure it on either side with M6 nuts (like the OEM light), and then tighten the M5 screws on the front face of the rear housing - as you tighten the screws, the 'toggle locks' in the back flip vertical, which lets them then grab the sheet metal on top/bottom, pulling the chaselight/gasket/body sheet metal into compression. This helps make sure the gasket in the center of the opening is compressed as well, and not just out on the ends where the bolts are at.

So - hopefully an improvement over stock!

(I'll get some real photos over the next couple days for folks as I put together the install guide!)

still not seeing these up on TAG...

We're running these through the new site - I'll shoot ya the info in a message! Keeping the first batch size small to make sure orders go out in a timely fashion.

These are up on the normal website now! Still one spot open for batch 1 - will ship out later this week (Thursday).

There's an intro promo where if you buy a chase light, you get $5 off another 100 series product at the same time - so take a look & see if there's anything else you need!

Check 'em out over here!

Not quite ready yet? No worries - Batch 2 (which will include the version without the camera bump-out) will roll out right after I ship all of this first batch next week!
