Very nice...wish I knew about that group buy...need to spend time in the hundy section I guess. @fireball I assume you have checked that these will work with the gamiviti awning receiver mounts right? I might need to scratch my plan for a foxwing now.

Happy Saturday, all!

After some recent health scares, and some soul searching, I have decided to make some changes in my life.

Downsizing forces me to sell my beloved 1974 FJ40. It is time for it to go to a new owner who will appreciate it and who can afford to continue progress on it.

I restored this truck myself, and I have dumped countless thousands of dollars into it over the years to get it to where it is now. It is a reliable/fun truck and I would love to see it go to someone in our club!

If you have not previously seen it, it is in what I would consider excellent condition. There are few flaws or unfinished items. I am a little anal and have gone into too much detail in many areas.

The truck is always evolving, and I am always working to take it to the next level. You can see my build thread on the truck here.

Here is a link to all of the pictures I have of the truck.

I am asking $20k OBO.

Here is the list of specs:

  • 4" skyjacker lift
  • STC soft top and doors (the cool top you can't buy any more)
  • Bikini top
  • Windshield mount mirrors
  • Front disc conversion with mini truck knuckles
  • Mini truck lockout hubs
  • Mini truck booster and V6 master cyl.
  • Trollhole carb
  • 2f aluminum valve cover

  • New Toyota fuel tank
  • New emblems
  • New Cool Cruisers reproduction bezel powder coated
  • New radiator
  • New dash - FJ40dash.com
  • New lights and turn signals
  • New hood latches, windshield latches, windshield bumpers
  • Yeah, pretty much new everything!
  • All bolts and hardware stripped and Cad plated
  • 35s with low miles
  • Aluminum wheels
  • Custom powder coated winch mount front bumper
  • Vintage 8274 winch - restored
  • Saginaw power steering
  • Tuffy console with Bluetooth stereo
  • 4runner seats with GT seat covers
  • Bench rear seat

  • Vintage Cobra CB mounted on front of Tuffy console

Other parts that come with it:
  • Replacement bracket for Tuffy console (current is cracked)
  • Unrestored but very decent hard doors and hard top
  • New Awl TeQ Replacement rear sill

The Bad:
I did not replace the sill when I restored the truck. The paint is bubbling a little on the corners. I do have a new Awl TeQ reproduction sill that would go with the truck
Smokes a little - believe to be valve guide seals. Compression is good on all cylinders

Andy,
If I didn't have so much wrapped up in my diesel swap I would be buying your 40. It's a beautiful cruiser, timing just isn't right for me.

Cheers,
Morgan

Can we buy this 40 timeshare style? Id pitch in a couple grand to be able to use this thing for a couple events and to Putz around town in the summer for a week or two!

I have $500. That's 2.5% share, which is just over 9 days a year. Since all I have to contribute is peanuts I will be happy with one week and no hard wheeling- shoot I just wanna drive it on my birthday every year.

77+ Hardtop sides for sale. In awesome shape - no rust, flip outs work great. A little dusty from sitting in my garage. PO restored them, but I've never run them. I was going to strip and paint them to use on Ramblin' Wrek, but I've decided to stay with my original set. Price is firm at $600 and I don't want to ship. I'm open to driving a reasonable distance to meet someone for any guys far away.
