looking a rear license plate assembly, 1975-?.
Brian - I have one I will give you for free but it is really rough. I'll try to get a pic to send you. Alternatively, usually Wadesters has one for sale that are usually very nice.

A Harrisburg guy emailed me about his 80 for sale.

Here is what he says:
It is a 1994 FZJ80
Runs strong but needs too much for PA inspection.
Asking 3K
192K miles
Roof rack does not go with it

He confirmed that it DOES have lockers, and says the engine does not use oil.

PM me if you want his contact info.

Thanks,
Andy

I went to look at this the other day. Right by my work. The guy was firm on the price so I walked away. I just want to know what everyone's opinion is. It needs a lot of work and most of it is the typical 80 problems. The worst is the rust. Most noticeable is the doors. The look they are rusting from the inside out. The one rocker pannel had a bondo job that was rusting through again. Severely faded paint. The front axle is in dire need of a rebuild and a clicking, probably a bad birfield or 2. Abs light is on which may just be a sensor that needs pulled and cleaned with the axle rebuild. Steering box input shaft leak. Other oil leaks I could not pinpoint the source because of a ghetto fabbed bypassed transmission cooler that he messed up the power steering cap while installing. Check engine light lean/rich codes he says. Seats are torn. Steering wheel cover falling apart. Tires are chopped up, possible alignment problem? Front locker engaged right away but i couldnt get the rear locker to turn on. I didnt check the antenna and No record of head gasket job. And this was just a quick 5 or 10 min go over. I know I could find a lot more if I dug further. Was I crazy to walk away when I thought he should have came down a little?

I have a lx450 with a slipping transmission and lots of body damage. I was thinking about transferring all my armour, lift, tires, etc to this but the rust and MIL are the deal breaker for me. I've been spending the last year chasing codes EGR and lean codes on mine.

@Crusha had a nice 80 body for sale, maybe a trans too?

I have two good a340e transmissions sitting here. If they do not work I may be looking for one and I have a few other yota auto transmissions I am willing to give away if anyone needs one. That has been my experience with any toyota truck autos. Usually you can't give them away.

A friend of mine has a '79 40 series and now wants an 80 series for family haulin' and trips. We're in Philly but will drive an hour or two to look at candidates. Let me know if you have anything, I'll be stalking the classifieds and Craigslist.

I have just ordered up a custom low profile gamiviti rack, and now no longer need my custom rack that I have had for about 1 year and 4 months. The rack will work with 6 gamiviti mounts (it's what I use, but I am keeping them for the new rack). The rack has a full expanded steel floor, with three lengths of airline e track for securing loads.
I did cut a 3"x3" square hole in the center of the rack so that my ham radio antenna could pass through, that is not pictured below, but can get pics upon request.

I spent a little over $1200 on the rack, I would like to get half that back.

Idea on the weight of that rack?

I have a big old crack in my intake hose, maybe somebody has an extra lying around? Anybody working on any diesel swaps or anything and won't need theirs anymore? @mryanangel ;)
