Out of curiosity - are there any differences or improvements in the 4-speeds over the years? I’d never heard of any. Either way, my truck is a 75 - so a 75 4-speed should fit right in.
There was a change in length of the four speeds somewhere in the mid-80s that affected the 60 series.

Output to tcase spline count changed, as did gear spacing and they added a cross member boss in 1980.

April 85...but i dont think the case changed.
There is a spacer between the trans and xfer.

Did the change in spline count all correlate to the switch to a split-case?

Either way, sounds like one of Brian's will work. Brian I'll send you a PM.

Having been on exactly 1 wheeling trip and mercilessly abusing my clutch - I now understand the need for lower gear ratios, but I'll probably rebuild and install a 4-speed until some point 10 years from now when I can afford a H55 and 4:1 split case and feel like completely redoing my driveline again...

Plus, a 28:1 ratio was probably not nearly the problem I felt like it was - more likely fault lies with the noob behind the wheel ;)

Anyone need a free tire? I used this as a spare a couple of trucks ago... standard Land cruiser size in a 275/70/16. Its the oem Michelin LTX m/s with probably 1/3 of the tread left. It has minimal dry rot and manufacture date of 08.

Any LX470 owners need a new (used) set of springs? These were removed from my 2000 Lexus LX470 at about 150k miles. They are in fine shape... went with a set of Kings to replace...

Anyone interested in a super nice cruiser? This is a 2003 Yamaha Vstar Classic 1100 with less than 9k miles. Looking for $2500...

I can't take it, but I will say, these are hands down the best handling/riding of all the metric cruisers. They corner beautifully and inspire conference in ones riding.

Got any farkles for it Rob, bags, seats, ect?

Best advice for new wheelers of land cruisers is stay off the clutch. Let the torque from the motor keep you chugging along. When it starts to stall give it a little burp of throttle and it’ll keep on chugging.
This was a hard learned lesson, probably knocked a few thousand miles off my clutch!

Wanted: 5x 40-series OEM steel rims and hubcaps.
I am running the new reproduction wheels in 16" from from City Racer. The main reason I went this (more expensive) route is that there are a lot of additional tires available in 16" (including taller skinny options) you can no longer get in 15." OEM hubcaps mount right up. Pricey though...
