Very nice!

I'm sick. I interested in the old hubs and lit. Not sure why the center are always destroyed or missing. Can't be because of the superior design.

Looks like your '62 just 3 off mine. Yours 2FJ40 16523.

Mine 2FJ40 16526

Not real clear in this picture, but registration much clearer.

looks like yours went to a dealer rather quickly...mine is older, but titled as a 63

I'll get you my snail mail address. It's the same as it was when you send me some parts off your $10 list. Get me a paypal and I'll send you the money for the lit. Interested in that as much as the hubs. I believe I currently have three sets but only one pair of the center knobs. It was the Husky hubs Toyota was offering to their dealers back in the early sixties so I would like to go with a set on something old. I would also like to find one of the later Husky hubs. The one owner 70 in my avatar has one. The other one failed and Husky replaced in 75 but the name was not cast into it. Being in Colorado you should have some still floating around. Would be interested if you find one. The later ones are black, only make a quarter turn to lock and you turn them counter clock wise to lock.

how does this bracket for the soft top work?

That's only half the bracket, there's another piece that wraps around the tube and hooks into that piece.

Sweet find. I much prefer the patina on that to the hideous repaint the P.O. did to mine.

I like the patina better myself but curious if it's a repaint. I believe 62 still had the front and back lenses on the front turn signal. This has the later style which is better than most earlier cruisers got when the turn signals got replaced.

we think it may be, but it's an old repaint and pretty sure they matched it as everything inside and out on the cruiser is the same green. it should've had the dual lense turn signals and these are painted to match. pighead spotted a run on the fender and questioned if it was original paint

not getting much done due to the 13 degree weather (wind chill of -1), but pighead pulled the skidplate and is cleaning and gapping the plugs, i drained about 8 gallons of shellac from the tank, sprayed a can of brakeclean on the skidplate, pulled front driveshaft from axle and worked on cleaning her spot in the garage some more. skidplate will take quite a bit of scraping to get whatever's growing on it off:) so will the transmission, transfercase, oil pan........

would like to get her in tonight, but the donkey/raven game is pretty dang good.

EDIT: rh front brakes are locked, but with a crapload of struggling and a floorjack, pighead and i were able to get her into her new home

but pighead is cleaning and gapping the plugs,

Yup, new Denso plugs are in Ontario, Ca and a week away...according to my new friends at the local dealership.
So, what's a good gap for these old Champion (J-12Y) plugs? (just to see if we can get it running tomorrow) and what's the best (good) part number for the correct Denso plugs?

Stock spark plug gap in the 63 owner's manual is 0.9MM (0.035 in) The Denso plug back then was Denso NGK type W14 B-4 not sure what if crossed over to something else.

Glad she is inside a garage instead of outdoors. I notice during the game it was snowing a little.

Did Toyoda-San use the same carb date code since the beginning of time?
If so, we've got a July 15, 1961 carb...which neither of the butterfly shafts move in. Also, did all the '62 have a hand throttle? Which we've got...

pighead unhooked the heater hose and peeled of the valve cover and i'm working on getting the years of grime off of it, everything looks and moves well under there and the antifreeze looks new. also checked the lights, just cause;)
