It's a kit from www.RockSpotter.com . I have an Infra red camera that I may stick on the rear rack, and use the existing micro camera up front looking at one of the front tires. You can mount 2 forward looking cameras on the front crossmember, each looking directly at a tire, then use a split screen view on the monitor for an unparalleled line of sight when driving over obstacles. Kinda blingy but works great on the trail and you don't need a spotter.

How well do you expect the camera system to stand up to river crossings and willows/alders going at the cameras like a giant wire brush?

Cool for playing in rocks, but pretty shortlived on the trails I would think. Kinda neat if it could survive.

Mark...

plexiglass mounted in front of my lights on my bumper kept the glass on the lights from getting damaged, just the wiring eventually gets corroded if not done properly. i wonder if mounting plexiglass in front of the camera's might help if they are prone to damage.

Well I covered all the lenses and my lights with this stuff called lamin-x. it's 40 mil. thick and goes on real easy like the clear 3m tape. The cameras are all rated to be submersible up to 30' and are super tough. They are pretty useless if you're running through a lot of mud, but river crossings are not a problem and brush doesn't really hurt them. They're all going to be mounted in well protected locations anyways, but they have double o-ring sealed metal housings so I don't anticipate any problems.

Haven't had much time to work on it. Wife has had me painting rooms and finishing up tons of honey-do projects. I did get the cap frame all welded up, drilled 22 - 1/2" holes, and painted it. I ended up using 3" x 1/4" strap which was perfect. I'm going to chop up some 2" strap I have laying around and weld it at a slight angle over the side doors and rear door as a "sill" (In theory, most of the ice that usually accumulates on your windows overnight should turn into icicles instead and keep my windows clear)

I then bolted it to the hardtop, bolted the fiberglass cap to the front of the windshield frame, and shot some rivets in it so it wouldn't move. Once it was where it was supposed to sit on the frame, I pulled it off and proceeded to rivet all the other pieces down to the frame, cut it all to fit and sanded stuff down to get ready for the fiberglass work. Tonite I started actually applying the fiberglass resin. It's not going to be perfect, but it's gonna work! More pics when I can spring for the $20 fee and get unlimited uploads :)

Fiberglass resin is sticky!

how did you attatch th can holder on the rear door? did you just weld it, or is it reiforced somehow? im interested

Thanks for the compliments guys. This thing is almost ready to go. I finished all the fiberglass and sealant work on the cap, just have to sand and paint it now. I need some ideas on color though! Should I just paint it white, or go with black, green to match, etc? I thought about ordering some of that realtree camo tape wrap stuff and doing the cap and the front bezel but that may be too much.

The shift knob is a D60 pinion gear...it's pretty heavy. I may make one out of the old spider gears when I toss the aussie locker in. I used some 14 bolt spider gears for the T-Case knob.

The rear rack is off of a snowmachine and was chopped down and modded to work. The cans squeeze in there perfect. It's welded to the rear door, but I'll be running 2 lengths of tube down to better support it.

I think I'm going to need to rebuild the carb and/or put a new fuel pump in it. It's running like junk until it gets warm and even then it hesitates. I haven't put exhaust on yet and still need to do cap/rotor/wires. Classic cruiser issues I guess.

Pics sent lavarunner

I think the camo would look good.

You might look at making the knob out of wood. I've used friend's metal shifters in the winter...COLD!!

Anything below 10* outside and you have to wear the thickest glove you own on that hand.

Sorry man my pics stink. I'll send you some pics of it mounted up tomorrow.

Hey guys, ya'll are great but I won't be accessing this board anymore. Actually I won't have internet access any longer so I won't be accessing anything, but if anyone wants to see how this thing turns out, feel free to call me whenever and I'll send you pics or answer any questions you have about things I did to it. Thanks for the tips along the way and God Bless!
