What're you doing with yours?

What a toy! Keep it up and keep more pics comin...

I really like your front bumper. Do you have pics of it from the front? Appreciate it if you could also send them to my email (serwin@plasa.com). Wonder what mods will be needed if I have a PTO instead of an electrical winch.

Thanks....

It's a Jeep YJ bumper made by AFW motorsports. Fits right on there. I'll be modifying it slightly to accept an 8274, but it seems to be plenty stout.

I'm going to drop it off this week at a sheetmetal place down the road - have them bend up some rear fenderwells. I kind of realized that I'll never get around to borrowing a buddys plasma cutter and spending all weekend fitting and welding them up myself.

After that, I'll be knocking out the exocage and removable overfenders just in time for hunting season. I also picked up some sweet leather bolstered buckets out of an old peugot sedan that will be going in. They even have seat heaters

Almost have the rear fenderwells done, I welded the frame up out of angle iron, and am cutting aluminum diamond plate to fit. Looks pretty good> I'm going to rivet the aluminum inner fenderwells in so that I can drill em out and change it later if I want> So far they're turning out great though! Pics tomorrow.

There's plenty of room in the back for Moose meat :) I'm also planning to build a modular roof rack that ties into the exo cage around the wheelwells via tube clamps. Then the moose will ride up there, but the top will still be removable. That's going to be the winter project, though.

VERY NICE :cheers::beer::cheers:

Your going to put an Alaskan moose on your roof rack? I suppose if you had a loader of some kind or a set of gin poles:D

I'll get some pics up of the fenderwells. Also built a new front bumper to incorporate a plow mount...should have that done by next Tuesday.

Normally, when we take a moose out of the woods, we first remove the guts, hide, head (less rack), feet and major bones. The meat goes into game bags and the rack goes up top. I should be able to toss a couple/few quarters up there and the rack without any issues :D

Yeah I suppose if you de-bone it, I've put 4 qtrs in the back of mine before but the moose around here are just a smidge smaller than what grows at your house. BTW the net on the inside of the hardtop was a pretty cool idea.

Thanks. I've been working on adapting a 6' Meyer plow assy. to the front. Helps me justify it's usefulness (SP?) if I can use it to keep the driveway clean :)

I built a new front bumper out of 4x4, 1/4" wall tube. made some brackets to attach the lift pump to the front. I had a buddy cut out some 4.5" drop brackets for the front of the bumper with D-ring mounts incorporated. This will allow an easy hookup for the plow frame and help keep the frame as level as possible. I'll get some pics up next week after they're burned on and everythings painted.

Here are some progress pics of the front bumper and modified plow frame. The whole shebang will remove by pulling 4 pins, and the front shackles hang down lower than the plow mount brackets will.

I'm going to be doing something with the corners of the front bumper as well. I've got a 2" reciever tube that's going underneath. If everything looks frozen in this pic, well, that's because it is :)

It's getting a front hoop like this one with tabs on the center bar to serve as a pivot point for the lift arm on the pump. I'm also going to mount the 8274 in there someplace.

After the plow is done, I'll be bending tube for the exo around the frontend. I plan to run it down the sides like they've done, and tie it into the sliders. I'll also be running tube around the rear and leaving a 6" wide, dimple-die'd fender to walk on.

Nice work, the dovetail is well executed. Be great to see it finished.

You're telling me. I started on this thing over a year ago and am back into winter again. It's just the last little things...:o

Welcome to my world:crybaby:. But on the bright side now you can get a cool " Mr Plow " jacket!

Nice jacket. The plow went on beautifully over the weekend. The brackets are super stout, and I made the bumper removable in case I ever want to swap it out. This thing is super maneuverable! I can't wait for the snow to start dumping so I can try it out. Need to weld a hoop up front and toss some lights on it so I can see over the plow but overall I really like the setup. I'll get some pics up tomorrow.

If anybody is thinking of doing this in the future, feel free to PM or email me with any questions. Email: EriksFJ@hotmail.com

Here are some pics of the finished product. Still need to contour the ends of the bumper, paint the plow and grind down some welds, but it's ready to push snow (good thing).

In the third pic you can kinda see the back of the brackets...there will be a piece of tube running from each to the front crossmember.

I tossed some turn signals on the side and added a SS as well. Next project is going to be the metal-tech style grille hoop tied into a front stinger. I'm going to incorporate the mount for the 8274 and add some tabs for the lift arm on the plow.
