Got my fancy cabin filter all the way from the land down under......2 of them actually. A little bulky to get in but when it's all open like it is now, not that bad.

The Luxury Liner Pro from Second Skin arrived today.....this stuff is ridiculously heavy. Lol. I was enjoying handing off the roll to my guys and them not expecting it to be so heavy. Ha. Neat stuff. Can't wait to lay it down.
I think I'll use the OEM vinyl mats to mark the Luxury Liner for stuff like the seat mounts, e-brake, seat belts, etc. Will be a little tricky to get FULL coverage around the contours of the floor. There should be very little if any exposed floor once this goes in. Sound will find it's way around the liner and come out in the places where it isn't.

I would guess that there are Land Cruisers that have river crossings in their future and others that do not. I would also guess that this one falls in the latter category.

Good question. It's all closed cell foam....so it won't absorb water and the Luxury Liner just covers the floor....it's not glued down(might get some velcro in mine IF it feels like it is moving around). The OEM floor covering(front section) has a bunch of jute on the backside which would absorb the water like a roll of Bounty paper towels...and probably take a while to dry. The guy in that video of the Troopy that was begin sound-proofed I posted a while back talks about moisture with their products(not Second Skin but the same kind of product). Since it doesn't absorb the water, the water evaporates.
The sound dampening spray is rock hard....so no issues with that obviously.
Will have to put it in a river to get some real world experience I guess.....

One day up there in TN when this truck is on the road, we'll have to put it in a river and prove you wrong I guess....

All this arrived today much to the relief of the UPS guy, took up a bunch of room in the brown truck. I went all in and bought a bunch of sets....14 to be precise. Mostly stuff for 80s/100s but there are 3 sets for 70s in there too.....well 2.5 sets.

Or perhaps I am a bit lazy to drain water from such a well insulated truck.
River crossing aside, the insulation work is impressive, as is the whole truck. Keep up the good work.

According to Sam that river crossing was supposed to be a non-event. That all changed with the 3"-4" of rain a day before the event.

More boring pics of interior stuff....I promise we'll be getting to some more interesting stuff soon. The shop is really busy right now....not a lot of time for the boss' stuff.
Working with the Second Skin Luxury Liner Pro today...it's challenging due to the thickness. Decided to make patterns. Worked out pretty good. The back piece was easy...used the vinyl mat to mark all the holes for the seats and belts. Getting older AND smarter....well....older for sure.

I used to find it amusing as to where we would find the small Cagiva elephants on Ducatis when we'd have them apart.....fun to find these guys on the Cruisers.
Here's a Cagiva Elephant on the underside of a peg on a 95 Ducati 916...built in the Cagiva plant in Varese due to fire damage at the Ducati factory in Bologna right as the 916 was going into production. They hand built the first 2500 or so 916s at Varese. The more you know...
