I work for a competitor and still order hundreds of orders a year from Amazon. I may have a problem.

I get that 100%
Especially with your home life being so back and forth. I work like 32 hours a week (2230-0530)and that's full time. So I have a bit more free time than most.

Are you guys noticing that most employees at these brick and mortar places don't seem to have the expertise that they once had, and aren't willing to entertain questions? When I do decide to drive over and pick up something instead of ordering it, I end up with slightly the wrong part... doesn't quite fit... and I end up wishing I'd waited the extra day or two for shipping

Generally if I'm doing auto parts I'm at the small local napa. So I don't have that issue. We also have a really good local hardware store with an amazing selection of bolts and nuts.

^^same for me up in Bellingham. NAPA is a bit more expensive than AutoZone, but leagues more helpful. Not sure what hardware store you have down south, but I will be very sad to lose Hardware Sales and Lummi Fishery Supply for hardware and electrical components as my local go to when I emigrate to MN. I’m hopeful I can find a useful hardware store that is not HD, Lowes Menards etc.

But it looks like I’ll be upping my game with McMaster Carr regardless.

Ok feeling pretty set on Dobinsons 2.5" VT coils (C97-146-VT front and C97-147VT Rear) and the longer 4-6" IMS shocks. I think this will be the best scenario for me running my 35" tires. I think this will get me everywhere I want to go in comfort including the 1k miles of interstate and highway to the mountains/ southwest.

The last of my build would be sliders, Radius arms for castor and a winch. Running the numbers and the cost is significant. Shipping a lift, sliders and radius arms (from each of the prospective dealers) nears $1k. Add a quality winch and some related recovery items and were easily in the neighborhood of what I originally paid for the cruiser, about $9k.

I’m running those springs and longer shocks if you have any questions. Those + bp51’s are seriously good! With my set up, my lift was about 3”

One of our most popular higher performance 8x Suspensions is the Dobinsons VT coils and the OME BP-51 shocks, along with the appropriate sway bar, caster, LSPV, etc components... it's a very dialed setup.

I am curious about what settings folks are running with the BP-51's (and how, if any tricks, you guys use to adjust the settings without the whole shock body spinning).

I am also curious about the BP-51's VS the MRR shocks? 2 way vs 3 way adjustable, do you like one more than the other?

The BP-51 has the ease of adjustment (use a rubber strap wrench to hold the shock if it wants to spin) and adjust using the provided wrench. The big thing to me is the internal bypass zones that really help with hard hits. The MRA/MRR are great shocks too, easier to adjust but lack the (3) internal bypass zones. We stock those too, popular option with great feedback from customers and ride quality in my experience.

Well the sun was out and I decided to replace my belt mouldings. Super gross underneath.

Looks better now. Hopefully it keeps some more water out. I also have window runs to replace, but that’s another day’s project.

I also orders a LSPV bracket from Dobinsons. This way I can get after my remaining brake over haul when the pressure bleeder and brake booster arrive.

that LSPV bracket will end up causing the LSPV arm to run into the upper control arm. I tried to retain it, ended up just ziptie the valve fully open.... if you don't have functioning ABS i wouldn't go this route.

I want to retain my ABS as I’ll be living in a snowy place and intend to do some winter traveling in Canada when I move to MN. Won’t be my primary winter rig, but I want to be able to have that help in the snow and ice.

How on earth do folks use this bracket then?
