I didnt read this whole thread and I know you k nm ow a LOT more about all this than I do. But the pair can be removed very easily. I dont know if that helps anything for the 93-94 trucks. I pulled mine a 100,000 miles ago and have never thrown a single code with the 02s mounted in the old pair locations. I moved the sensors to try to keep the conectors cleaner from water and dirt.the 93/94 trucks have their issues. The first is the pair valve. I know that Toyota originally provided parts to deal with that and I'm sure they could be recreated but I have no idea whats involved. The second is fueling. The VAF sensors top out just entering boost and then fueling is stagnant with no increase in delivery. This is easily overcome with something like the split second enricher that has a built in MAP sensor and runs 2 injectors. You set the point enrichment begins and by how much. Reviews have been favorable.
I think that once Toyota realized the lawsuit potential of their SC burning up customers engines they pulled that option off the shelf. And I have intention of opening myself up to that risk as well.
I will say this, my setup sits considerably higher on the head than the TRD unit and the compressor is physically smaller. Dealing with the pair system might not be as challenging.
Again I aplogize that I have not read the whole thread. But there is a oem toyota plate that bolts right over the pair holes. I have no idea what it came from. But a smarty pants Toyota parts guy got me two of them with gaskets. I mounted mine over the 02 sensor holes in the original spot. Then put my 02 sensors in the pair spot. No reason the plates wouldn't fit over the pair holes that I can think of.deleting the pair system is no problem, swap in 95-97 exhaust manifolds and change out the coolant pipe running from the t-stat housing back and youll have clearance. i deleted my pair system about a year ago and i havent had any issues so far
Understood. I'm thinking along the lines of entry to the game. I realize it was necessary due to the EWG you wanted to include. The inclusion of the intercooler basically opens the door for free HP. Design a larger crank pully and a scaled injector setup for STI pinks and we just added 100 HP.
Really? I'd think people want an arm and a leg for the OEM "better for resale" line of thinking. I'd rather have new but ill look into that though. Still excited to see what you come up with.Once my system is up and running I’ll be selling my TRD SC. Used TRD units will likely be the best entry option.
Exactly. And if I was going to drop that coin, I'd rather buy new from Landtank.Used TRD kits sell for 6k and most never make it to the classified usually because there are always 10 or so people looking for one.
Yes, between this and starting off new again I'll be looking at selling my trd s/c too. It's only got 10k from a rebuild so feels newish but have a feeling landtank's s/c kit will be similar if not exceeding a modest turbo setup. The inclusion of the intercooler basically opens the door for free HP.
