There is quite a lot of 43s in France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The Flip Top 45s were first made by a company called Pongratz&Otto and they called it Worldcruiser.

Thanks! Very cool! I'd love to see more details in terms af attachments if anyone has one.

Also in terms of the 43's- if anyone ever hears of any aftermarket support for them- I need a set of springs for a medium wheel base- mine are sagging. I also want to get a soft top set up- bows and all that as well as a roll bar. I wish I spoke french............

Best!

Pete

I was thinking the same thing. Looks broken from what I see.

No it's not broken. He welded one old leaf with a spring eye to the frame halfway the leaf. This way he could flex more.

Really like the mustard tray-back 45 on what appears to be a FJ80 (?) frame...Very clean.

Yep it's a hdj80 with a tray back 45 on it.

I like that one, and that one, and that one, and that one, and that one, and that one. If you made me pick a top ten maybe I could. All that history in one event. Way way cool.

x15 for posting/sharing the pics, can't imagine what it would have been like to be there.

What is going on with big blue's rear suspension? Is that a modified bucket setup or is it broken?

If you look closely you can see the shackle top is attached to part of a single leaf spring that runs back to the frame so it gets more drop. Back in the day we always called the "buggy springs".
I know a few people that have run them, and they seem to work well...
