Guess I'll be getting a new bumper sooner than later. The 200 broke some plastic bumper pieces and a tiny dent in the hatch. His Honda... well... not so great. Granted he hit at one of the strongest parts of the Land Cruiser.

Holy cow, hope everyone was ok!

It was just me in the 200 and I'm fine, thanks. The guy was a little scared though when I got out of the vehicle yelling at him before I saw the minimal damage.

Frame damage is definitely a concern. The dude was going at a pretty good speed. We'll see. I'm going to try to work a diminished value claim too.

Looks more like CRV vs. TOW HITCH! :)

That strong tow hitch ain't gonna budge.

Thanks for posting photos, I am always paranoid of being hit. LC took the hit well. I put a rear bumper arm mounted to the frame to protect myself and family from rear end collisions.

No problem. I figure if anyone is trying to convince their significant other to buy in on a 200 these will help. If I was in a unibody suv/cuv/minivan the outcome would have been much different.

I noticed both of the CRV bags deployed, what was the estimated speed of impact that little critter had?

I have been on this board a long time and there always seems to be a disparity of damage between (insert vehicle here) and a Land Cruiser. Some with more disparities than others of course, this being one but even from other angles of impact the cruiser always shines. That would really, really make me think about what I want to roll around in if I was in that CRV...

Wow that's a pretty intense collision if he was going 45mph! Be very cautious with delayed symptoms for things like neck and back pain - they can creep up days later even if you feel ok now. I'd make sure they put your 200 up on a lift and check everywhere for frame damage, stress cracks, etc. and pursue a diminished value claim (like you already mentioned). I love Land Cruisers for their safety, but anything hitting you going that fast can cause some material damage no doubt.

Yeah for sure. Thanks! If I was in my early 20s I wouldn't be too concerned. But now that I'm an old bag I don't need another brace to add to my knee and back brace collection haha I never should have gotten old. :)

His insurance (state farm) is sending an adjuster on Monday but I have a private repair estimate being accomplished on Thursday. I might schedule another just to have more ammunition since I'm willing to bet they'll lowball me. We'll see.

My wife totaled two due to impact (a Miata, rear end like yours, and a Taurus, front end from the side), not her fault. The damage was all cosmetic on the Land Cruiser. She's a believer.

Smart move. Let them know you already have estimates being worked on. Also another LC being hit, but delivering the blow HERE.

Oh they'll low ball you. It's their job. Insurance companies exist to MAKE money. Good luck on your repair man.

Thanks! I now have two estimates scheduled for Thursday. I might schedule one more. My insurance said to call them if State Farm tries to play hardball and they'll step in. Parts alone should be well over $1500. Hopefully I can get this settled and hand it over to @reevesci for a double swing out ASAP.

We'll see. I'll keep this thread updated as the saga unfolds.
