Sorry for the dumb question, but....what does this knob labeled "V" do? 71fj40.
Opens the fresh air intake flap of the blower box mounted under the hood to allow fresh air in.
I didn't know foresure but I would think that it is the vent knob for the heater.
V for "Vent"
I believe there is a vent between the hood and the windshield that opens when you pull that knob.
Nope, that's a push knob labelled with wavy lines.
aliens from the old show "V" attack heeps slowing you up on the trail.
seriously, don't have one with that label in my '74.
I believe it's the fresh air vent for the heater.
On my '68, it controls the door on the air intake to the heater from the vent on the firewall above the passenger's feet.
it activates volts on your alternater .new high tec device
Thanks to you all....I'll go ahead and track it down to the heater vent door. It is stuck, so I'll start there and see if I can un-stuck it.
V is for Vendetta....
You have to wear thos crazy white mask before you pull it.
IFRC that knob on my 69fj40 would open the rain and dust acumulator in front of the windsheild on the cowl when pushed in and close it when pulled out.
don't know about a 71
V is for Velveeta!
