So this is the preliminary schedule
Leave Greenville friday afternoon and go down to Augusta Ga.
Friday and most of Sat rebuild the front axle, replace the front tcase output deal and rewire the vehicle so it charges.
Drive to Maggie Valley and stay in a comfortable bed for the last time Sat night.
Drive to Owensboro, KY Sunday and drop off some land cruiser parts. I'm sure we will drop plenty along the way as well. Camp somewhere near this town.
Drive to Chicago, Il Monday and stay somewhere outside town where we will not get shot.
Drive to Steve's place Tuesday-Wed.
That is it.
Did I mention we will be driving a 50 year old and hastely built FJ45 3000 miles which is the equivalent of driving from here to Seatle!! May God have mercy on our poor broken bodies![]()
- Flight leaves Cali Tuesday morning
- Arrive in MN that afternoon
- Drive down to Red Wing Thursday morning
- Spend the next 4 days listening first hand of the Adventure of a Lifetime
Best advice I can give you is Ear Plugs, back pillows, those neck coolers you soak in ice water ( red neck AC ) and when you stop for gas dont take to long to get back on the road your bodies will become used to the vibrationCant wait to see you two again.

The RAT for short.
Somehow I've talked JP into driving the 1100 miles to Red Wing , MN to hang out with Steve (aka Poser) and a bunch of other guys for 4 days of wheeling, eating meat and drinking on 500-1000 acres of private land full of trails. Wile most would think the 4 days of wheeling would be enough for us that will be only half of it. The task of getting up there and back in JP's 45 pickup will be the other half. We plan on taking a lot of backroads to get there as his 45 is limited to 55-60 mph. Plus I'd like to see what that part of the country has to offer as far as roadside attractions. So we have got to start planning early if we want this all to work out.
The date we are supposed to be in the Red Wing area is June 20th thru the 24th. That means we need at least 2 if not 3 days each way to get there and back. So we will either leave on the 16th or 17th and plan to be back home no later than the 26th.
Somebody doesn't read the details. Bastard.
So the trip is getting cut short. We will have Tues-Friday so spend with Steve then we have to head home. Most likely he will have had enough of us by then anyway.
