RE:John Napier

Does anyone have the address for the shop that John Napier is using. After he riped me off his shop closed and he doesn't return my calls. His stories to me have been: His father was Ill, his wife left him, his son was in trouble, he had to have an operation on his eye, he lost 90k to a casino in vegas on a cruiser deal. His landlord raised the rent on his building and on and on and on. I gave him a $2000 deposit in April for a couple of FJ40s that never arrived! I went to his home address and there was a court order posted on the door that he wasn't allowed on the property. I thought he was nice also, that's what makes him such a great con artist.

BEWARE OF JOHN NAPIER THE THIEF

Fawk! These Napier stories keep going, and going, and going.....

I don't care what anyone else says, but I'm still thanking God I didn't fork over $5g too him for a cruiser "site unseen"

And no Coyote, I can't tell you where he is, I wish I could..

VIN FJ40137454....was a 1973 Fj40. I know he stripped it down to the tub and frame. light blue painted over with a silver the last time I saw it. I will report it stolen on the 29th and start the whole legal process. I am too mad to find them right now but I have his last three home addresses, telephone numbers, I can refer you to his current landlord if you wish, and I have numbers for two other people that are taking Napier to court. All he has to do is call me and I am sure we can work something out.

Man am I feeling lucky. I guess the best thing I did was go stand over him for two days until I could take my cruiser home.

I m happy to help anyone in anyway I can. I still have the paperwork for work he promised to do but didn't. But them I got him to sign away the rest of the money he said I owed him. I could be a witness in a civil trail as he used those same stories with me.

Lat I knew he had his shop in Brighton on 7th ave. If thats the one that closed, I don't know anybetter. He did drive an 18 wheeler on the weekends, mabe you can track him down that way.

do you know who he drove for, or was he an owner op? if he drove for someone, i can probably find him through my contacts at work.

No, maybe it was a lie, but that was one of his excuses is that he had to make a run to pay the bills. Do not have anymore info than that. Except, he had his own truck. Does that help?

I won't believe it until it happens but Napier called me last night and wants to make everything right. He apologized and said he is in debt and had to take on a job driving a truck to catch up. He told me that in 1-2 weeks he would be back in Colorado, he has my title done, and possibly the money he owes me for the '73. I don't agree at all with how he is running his business but I have to be optimistic. Being bitter is no way to live your life even though it's funny when you shake your fist and in your best old man voice yell at the darn kids to get off your lawn.

Mike, I hope you end up at the end like I did. Frusted at the BS, but not out any money.

Good Luck!

Ken

[NEWS FLASH/]

This just in:

Grandma died, and Napier must haul her back to Kentucky for the funeral, oh, and he's paying for the wake, so he won't be able to pay you back, just now. Fuel costs have risen, too, you know, so could you kick a few bucks in toward the grand old gal's transport?

Oh, and Grandma's dying wish was to be interred in your '73. You don't mind, do you?

[/NEWS FLASH]

Bitter? Hell, no, it's predictably funny how folks like this operate. Laugh, man, laugh! :o :D

Best of luck with everything, Mike, but don't believe anything you're told by an "operator" like this guy.

Don't give up, either, because that's what he's counting on...

Kirk

You know, that would be funny if it wasn't exactly like the type of excuses he makes.

OK, so it is funny :D

He told me he already had a PHD in metalurgy and sometimes he takes classes to keep current. Now that was an interesting excuse.

I still loved the one were he told me my cross member broke and to be a good guy he was replacing the frame.

Or, he was trying to be a good guy and was getting an emissions for me and it failed, so he drove all the way to Grand Junction to get the only air pump in the region.

Of course, it had the original frame and old air pump when I came and took it.

I am going to the Sheriff's office today after work. Need to report my Cruiser as stolen.

Good luck Mike. Keep us posted.
