That might be a 40 hood but these are most certainly 55 part numbers:

53301HOOD SUB-ASSY
53301-903561
53301-90357FOR W/SILENCER1
53341SILENCER, HOOD, NO.1
53309-903511

I'm guessing it was a non-US market item.

In my 55 there is but is in bad condition, you can find it new but very expensive, I was looking for a used one....in good condition, but if you say there wasn't in Us I stop looking...

It shows as discontinued so if you find it new it would be NOS (new old stock). I have not seen anyone mention having it in the US.

As you see is for fj55 and fj56....
Just because Amayama shows it available doesn't mean it is. They cancel most of my orders for items that are showing as discontinued elsewhere.

this may help - no silencers on the top of 55 hoods. There is a silencer which is an insulation pad under the hood - I've never seen one

And that’s a later 55 hood. Now I’m curious to see one.
Me too.

@Toyboy please post a picture of yours, even in its deteriorated state, most of us have never seen one on a pig.

Cheers

I have never seen a silencer pad under a 55 (or 40) hood.

I wonder how much they actually silenced the mighty Pig?!?
Probably not much. By the time they got to the 80 series they changed the part name to insulator. Apparently it's supposed to help protect the paint on the topside of the hood.

Edit: Actually they called it an insulator on the 60 series also.
