Did you install the DC shaft while the skid plate was on the vehicle? I took the factory one off no problem but cant fit a wrench on the Tcase nuts because the DC makes it too tight in there.

I'm running a DC Shaft and it's the center zirk that can't be had.

the plate went on after the shaft. The truck has been sitting all summer so I haven't needed to even try greasing it yet. I'm not sure which CV head I have either. After looking at NorCalSam's drive shaft I can say it's not a spicer. The u-joint zirks are located in one of the cups sticking out of the end.

edit: looks to be a Toyota cv

There may be a way to get creative with some additional brackets to the skid plate and the frame to help you slid over a rock.

Keep in mind that my muffler is now pushed up and back.

Scott,

Here's what I did:

As you can see the muffler is tucked away. It does not sound too loud. It just sounds different.
I did this while I still had my Slee Skid Plate.

Just out of curiosity, what is the advantage of a Double Cardan (DC) drive shaft over stock?

Rick, did you "aim" your rear pinion at the T-case, similer to the front w/caster plates?

The point where the exhaust wraps underneath the frame (between the cats and the muffler) seems like another pinch point to me. Has anybody had any problems hitting the exhaust in this spot on rocks?

Alvaro, that looks good. I would like to hear that set up at SNT this year. As YOTAFAN fan references, is there a reason you didn't go over the frame? Mine is a "93 so I have the different cats but is there really no room to route over the frame just behind the cats?

If you look under there, it's REALLY tight! It has been done, but it's a tight fit and most muffler guys look at it and shake their head no. At least that's what i had one muffler guy tell me. He didn't really want to earn his money i guess.

I got 2 of these plates . I have one installed in the back of my 91 Ford E150 van and the other was installed in the garage right next to the compressor

One more part I had the money but not the time

One day I'll get everything done and I wont have anything to do

Was I supposed to remove the stock tranny skid plate before the install? Did all of you do this first??

At any rate, the belly pan works well. Took a beating on some rocks in New Hampshire this past weekend without complaint.

Any one one if the IPOR skid interfere with Slee's sliders?

I would think that it would work, but I am sure that someone with this setup could confirm.

It depends on what trans you have, one has more clearance than the other. I experienced some contact while driving so I took off the stock tranny plate. If you have had no issues so far then you should be good to go.

i removed mine before installing the IPOR. read somewhere that it rattles against the IPOR so i just removed it to make sure.

jfz80 on the board has the IPOR skid and slee step sliders. THe two get along just fine. :grinpimp:

From IPOR:

These high clearance heavy duty skid plates are laser cut from 3/8" pickled and oiled steel plate. New design for easier DIY installation. This unit completely replaces the low hanging factory crossmember and includes skid plates for both transmission and transfer case. Includes hardware kit and tcase support leg.
