Well, let’s try some photos then.

Disc brake conversion “kit”. Cleaned up and test assembled. Missing two bearings, need replaced anyway.

Should work though, new seals and bearings and some swearing and cussing should get it done.

Chased out a couple vacuum leaks, and the truck will now start with just the choke. Can adjust the choke yet, but progress.

Brakes are better, bled system, adjusted all 4 brake shoes. Now it will hold firm pedal after 2 pumps. Not great, but progress. Thinking rebuilding rears, and doing the front disc conversion. Not much left of the old shoes anyway.

Kurt @cruiseroutfit will hook you up!

Totally, we would love to help you out. We stock all Japanese knuckle overhaul kits with or without wheel bearings as well as all of the individual parts separately too. You can view them here: Cruiser Outfitters

It looks like you already sourced wheel bearings, I would recommend you give a hard look at the Chinese bearings, we've seen some nasty ones over the years, premature wear, inconsistent pre-load, etc. Might be totally fine just a gamble one takes, with Japanese parts you always know you're getting the best :D

I did a rebuild earlier this year and went to Cruiser Outfitters. They talked me in to the Japanese bearings and it was a good thing. Turned out the passenger side was shot.

Reconditioned the disc spindles and hubs, pressed in the new races. More new parts arrived, shiny new discs.

I hear y’all about the Chinese bearings. I’ve used them for a while, only once did one fail, and on that one I was too lazy to change out the race, didn’t clean the old grease out and did a poor job packing the new bearing. Budget is also a concern right now. Just want it running and driving for now, will be overhauling and restoring both axles in the near future. It will be interesting to check these bearings after a year or so.

That movie star is one beautiful 55. What are your plans for the new one? Is it for a specific customer?

Thank you! Moviestar was a heck of a project.

This pig is for a customer. Phase 1 is to get it safe and drivable, with a full restoration down the line.
