There is a short section of fuel hose in between the hard line that runs up to the vapor separator and the hard line that runs up the fuel rail to the engine. It’s about 4 or so inches long. That is where i am going to plumb in my charcoal canister @ceylonfj40nut. just make a bracket to attach it somewhere back there and you wont have to see it in the engine bay
I need to do this. I put mine in the engine bay and it looks terrible.

@ceylonfj40nut ive actually relocated my one way valve up to my core support area and have been meaning to finish my EVAP system but ive not gotten around to it. I posted this to your thread.

Im adding a square OEM GM charcoal canister to mine back near the fuel tank. The inlet will go to to the in on the canister, the outlet will connect to the existing hard line that goes up the frame to the engine bay. on the other side of that, im going to connect a hose to the oem Purge solenoid on my intake. At least on Gen 3 you cant actually tune that out of the softare, you just disable the MIL Light. Should still purge it like normal.

The charcoal canister i am using is GM 215-180
Great. I have a Gen III and will talk to PSI about this.

Anyone use hard fuel line along the frame rail in place of -6AN rubber? Thinking about doing hard line with compression fittings that terminate at firewall and near fuel tank where I will transition to flex hose. If you have, what tube material and did you use compression or flared ends?

I did, with stainless

I’m planning on going back and doing it with stainless hard line and flared fittings. My braided AN hose was just supposed to be temporary but many other projects have gotten in the way haha. Going to do the same with my auto trans lines.

If you plan on doing flared ends. The Eastwood flare tool that goes into a bench vise is worth the money. It works very well

Flared or compression?
I'm doing mine with flared fittings - if you're going to go the flared route you need to use a 37 degree flaring tool for -6AN stuff.

I'm using this flaring tool

This hardline

And these AN fittings

Thanks. That is what i researched for flared fittings! Still leaning toward compression fittings

Thinking of running hard fuel and brake line routing differently. Idea is to mount lines to and from rear under body with flex lines at either end. This gets it off the hot exhaust on frame rail. Seems this is factory on an 80. Doing 60 body on 80 chassis. Any issues you all see?

I dont see why that would be a problem, my old 4runner had fuel lines routed like that as well

I'm reading this thread and many of the parts are no longer available in 2024. I'm looking for the following parts.
Transmission cooler, power steering cooler, radiator with shroud. I think those are all the coolers that are necessary.

Pick a your favorite derale or similar PS and transmission cooler from Summit and call it a day. Radiator is a harder choice. I had a list of ones I considered in my build thread. You will likely have to make your own shroud if you go mechanical fan

I used these

It’s debatable. I did since I had corvette accessories and didn’t want to build a shroud. But it’s arguably less efficient cooling than a mechanical fan. I also spent entirely too much $$ on a radiator. But Mine works fine in 110F heat so 🤷

I sell a mechanical fan shroud for Mosley Motors radiator. You will need to use it in conjunction with my motor mounts though.

thanks for all the help guys! another question, which transmission mount do i use? the gm one or stock toyota transmission mount that we still have attached to the old crossmember. we have a 4l60e with adapter to 19 spline toyota transfer case and we are using the crossmember from advanced adapter.

You're going to have to build a custom crossmember and run the 4L60E mount.

I used the toyota mount and cross member and drilled & tapped new mounting holes in the adapter. Here is how I did mine. 1/4" spacers between the frame and cross member gave enough room for everything.

Also, I am just up the hill in Park City. Shoot me a DM if you want to see how mine went together, or if I can help with anything on your swap!
