No kidding. I've had both and there is no way I would convert an 80 to IFS. Once the straight front axle is gone there's no reason to have an 80 over a 100 and many, many reasons to have a 100.

Seriously? I think it has a smooth ride as is, from the factory. Yours has a big lift. Such an effort makes no sense IMO. As others have suggested, sell and buy something else.

Step one, sell 80, step 2 buy a 4Runner, LC/LX100 Series, LC/LX200 Series or LC250 Series/GX550.

Might as well go full independent… shorten a 2nd Gen Sequoia frame and roll it under.

I’m only here cause I feel this may be a troll… also I plan on doing a fair amount of trolling myself. Also I’d rather have a live axle compared to a torsion bar set up like on a 100 series. If you really want comfort sell the 80 and pay far out the a$z for a early 200 or a 3rd or 4th gen 4Runner / GX.. ya get what I’m saying.

Convert it to IFS and IRS. Swap in a turbocharged 3 cylinder from a Nissan Rogue. Use the engine to drive a generator instead of a transmission. Install electric motors at each wheel. Bob it to a two door. Install a rotor for vertical take of (handy when you are stuck in a mudhole). Make sure the body is water tight and install an electric waterjet drive underneath for those really wide river crossings. Make sure the chassis is compatible with the first stage connections of the Atlas launch system for those weekend moon jaunts.
