CLICK ME: Crawl Control and Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) retrofit on '10-'19 GX 460 / all trims

Crawl control and/or MTS can be added to any '10-'19 GX 460 regardless of trim. MTS is not available in stock US models in North America except for Canadian top tier models. Crawl Control was available on '10-13 Premium models via special order packages and on '14-'19 Luxury models with the Driver Support Package. Five speed crawl is used in GX 460 like the '13+ LC & LX 570. Previous years of crawl in LC and LX 570 are three speed. Starting in 2020 MTS is available on US Luxury models with the “Off-Road Package”. '10-'19 Multi-Terrain Select includes modes for Mud & Sand, Loose Rock, Mogul, and Rock. 2020-2021 also adds Rock & Dirt and MTS AUTO mode. Part numbers and the ability to retrofit 2020-2022 models are unknown at this time.

For CC you basically need a new console switch

My Old one... and my new one...

Bear in mind I can't absolutely guarantee all will be able to do this. You will want to confirm your current driver support computer has the black, green and blue wires. In addition your current console switch should also have these wires. You are also going to need to do a zero point calibration with Techstream.

Awesome news. We have the same in our car that your original was with the Downhill assist control, so we should be in the same boat.

And the wire you are describing at the "vehicle support computer" is behind the glove box.

We have a '15 who has now added CC as well. Parts are hard to source at this point though.

Is 15' that different than 14?

Sorry, went back to the club lexus forum and posted question there.

Top notch research here. I'm not using our GX offroad much right now, but I suspect this research will have years of benefit for GX builders.

Love this thread.

great info 22E!

if im reading correct, if i wanted to add MTS to my 12’ premium (with crawl) i would have to swap out the drive computer to the newer software version?

and if i have crawl, that means i inherently have DAC as well?

Just wanted to say thanks for all the effort that went into creating this thread! And thanks for sharing!

That said, maybe I'll just narrow my search down to GX that come with crawl control/multi-terrain select.

I think the features are overkill for my use most of the time anyway, it seems less crazy to just purchase them as standard equipment than going to the hassle to add them & then hardly ever use them!

But can't say enough about the capability of the GX! What a hidden gem! Japanese Land Rover without any of the unreliable compromise!

No problem.. be advised MTS isn't available in US models...just Canadian in North America. It's the easiest of the two mods though. Literally unplug one module and replace with a different rev. Turn on GX and function is there.

I just purchased a 2018 Lexus GX460 Premium here in the US. If I'm reading this thread correctly, I can purchase a Computer, Driving Support Control part number 859A1-60040 and plug it in without any other modifications and have fully functional Multi-Terrain Select on my vehicle after starting it up? I don't need a tech stream flash or any other calibration for this feature? I'm hoping this is really that simple as far as being 100% plug and play. Doing this has no chance of messing up any electronics or my ECU? Appreciate the tips on here.

pretty stoked to read this! is there any way to reassign or remove the AHC and SPORT buttons for vehicle that dont need them? i have a 13 base.
