Yeah looking a bit better now,did ya attack that sunroof?

Sound deadener NQ is called fat mat, there was a bloke selling it on ebay,a fair bit cheaper then dynamat.i done that maybe 18months back,i need to do inside the doors before they go on but he doesn't seem to have it anymore, looks like i'll have to get some dynamat this week,it makes a difference too!
I bitumended(oh s*** spelling) the floor also then decided to put the deadener in,i may regret that later on.

The colour looks weird in the shed,it will be a bit different outside.

Did a bit on it this arvo, not alot i was helping removalists all morning.
Just came back to a big empty brick house, but ive got the essentials,Fold out camp bed, camp chair,1 jar of vegemite, bread, tatare sauce,my 50 ltr fridge mate half full of beer,1 roll toilet paper:hhmm:,laptop and the local pizza shop no.
Fxxx what more could a bloke want:D

Goldchaser
I'd add a beautiful companion to the above mix of ingredients, but that may just be a personal preference...

Hey, on the color - what color is it? My gut tells me you are going metallic silver but is there any olive green in it or is that just the picture?

Sounds like it will be a while, but I can't wait to see finished - I'm hoping to repaint my rig this year as well.
Thanks
Koby

Yeah i know what your talking about alpine but the good woman has taken my dog too:D

The colour code is 1D2,in the shed it looks like it has green in it but when ive seen this colour outside on other trucks(hzj78's etc) i haven't noticed it,but hey im also colour blind.
Ive heard it called a few different names too,i think one was amazon grey or silver?

Hay glodchaser, After i got the roof home i started to notice i was having a nice green puddle form under the 60 every time i stoped. So i've spent the last few weeks between work sorting that one out, first off thought it mite have been the hose clamps so i bought some intercooler type ones bout an inch thick (overboard i know). But ended up being a crack in the top tank, so it was sent off to get fixed.
When you head back up to NSW and you pass through bendigo your more than welcome to swing by. Cause of course i want to see it finished in the flesh! And i'll try to convince you that the 2H is better than the 12HT and we should swap engines ;p

The paint we got is spies hecker i think, the tins are up at my mates place now.

Yeah when i head off i'll send you a pm and get ya mobile no Toy45,i'll drop in on the way through, but i'll be takin my motor with me!

No probs. Was worth a shot. If things work out i'll be building a 2H-TI for my 60

Awesome. A 60 is reborn.

On some pics, if I didn't know any better, I'd say it just rolled out of factory in Japan, late 80s.

Its coming along fellas, sorry circumstances have left me with a computer i can;t load photos on.
I'll have a bunch in about two weeks.
Everything is painted exept the interior roof supports and the flares.
My mate and i were tossing up on the flares today, silver or black,im not sure but im leaning towards silver, what do you guys think?
Im starting to put it back together, all doors should be on by tomorrow and guards.
Ive trimmed the roof, boy that was fun,i lined it with 5mm silver backed adhesive neoprene rubber then glued outdoor charcoal carpet over the top,i done it in sections, the roof supports will cover the joins.
Gotta go,im batchin it and my mates cookin me a roast tonight.

Think you should match the body colour for the flares.
Hope you remember the golden rule for a roast, 3/4 meat and 1/4 veg!

Yeah im on the fence but i think silver,my mate reckons black.
He cooked heaps of veges, but i needed it after the good woman left its been pizza and beer and steak sandwiches.
A bit cooler in central vic this morning Toy45.

Yeah the weather was going good, but now its getting warm again. How is the bus coming along?
That paint job looks the goods too, mite have to get your mates no, cause sooner or later mine will need doing.
Oh by the way that pod your putting on the dash was that from a 4runner, cause it looks the part.
Cheers Matt:beer:

Its coming along good, ive been spending alot of time with wiring and fixing little bits and pieces while im putting it together, only have the tailgates to go on but i havent finished one bolt in a hinge so bubble hasnt painted them yet.
Ordered a bunch of stuff this week to finish it off so im waiting on a few things at the moment, sorted out the wiring in the engine bay etc this arv and fired her up,start battery was dead but it has 2 aux batteries so i used one of them and it fired in about 3 seconds, not bad after sitting for 8 weeks, ticked for 5 seconds then settled into that nice 12ht purr.
Forerunner pad yes,im waiting on a new temp gauge and pyro to go in it.
I'll drop in next week some time.
If you get your truck ready for paint and have a compressor and shed over their im sure he'll come over and spray it for ya,he's not that keen on body work these days but boy he can use a gun.

Goldchaser,
the work looks amazing, great job. Hope things settle down for you sooner than later. I'm in the same debate on flares and color. I think black looks more rugged and color-keyed makes the truck look nicer. I'll probably end up going color-keyed as well. After you spend the time and money on a full paint job might as well make the truck look as perfect as you can I reckon.

Can't wait to see the finished work. Hoping that I'll be able to get mine knocked out in the next few months. Helps keep me motivated to follow other people's work.
Best
Koby

Pics or it never happened:flipoff2:

Its looking real nice but its also messing with my mind, its like do i really want to take this in the bush now and scratch it:bang:

Oh photos will be around 8 days when i get home but they'll have to wait ive been 3 weeks away from my little blonde danish soulmate of 20yrs,first week and a half was ok but ive been jerkin the guerkin a bit this week:doh:

Lovely info to share there Goldchaser, hand shandies are the norm after that length of time. Truck looks awesome, I hope you went with the black on the flares. You'll have to road trip up to the gold coast so we can go wheel.
