They have to be black like Toyota sold them, otherwise it looks like a respray;)

Oh ,and nice work so far. Thinking about doing the 75 series now:D

...I don't know about not being black = looking like overspray... Marmaduke doesn't look like over spray:

Well youve got alot less body to do roscoe

Alpine is that your rig, real nice but i don't dig the overlifts.

No, that's not mine - it is one out of Canada that belongs to another 'Mudder. I just think it is a good example of a color-keyed rig not looking like spray-over. Here stateside basic black fender flares is generally an entry level vehicle and the nicer the rig the more likely it is to have painted flares...

This is mine - still no paint and no flares installed... using you as inspiration...

Oh yeah ive seen yours before alpine, nice too!
Ive seen some white coloured 60's with colour matched flares and didn't like it,the dark colour looks good when there matched but silver is not so dark,i said to my mate yesterday i was gonna say put silver on them,he said he was gonna paint them black anyway:doh:
Alpine have you got the rubber strip for the flares,if not i got some from a mob down here,it arrived two days back, perfect fit and good quality,3-4 dollars a metre,i got 8mtrs.Its more of a rubber then the original that seemed like plastic unless it was just stiff from age.
Baeufort the mudflaps are usually worst for wear,im making up some new ones for mine,my old ones might be in the rubbish pile for the tip,but im not sure if there worth the postage to usa.

I reckon with your colour alpine black flares will look better,i think mine are black now,my mate was painting them this arvo, and thats it for painting exept a few small rattle can jobs, window wipers/mirrors etc.
We put rear tailgates on today, lining up the top one was a night mare,it doesn't want to sit straight, lost a bit of fresh paint on the top edge:mad:
New windscreen went in today plus the solid windows,i got the rest of the glass in the doors with new bailey channel also.
Trimmer came in and did a bit last night for me,but im not happy with it,it looks crap,i'll leave it at the moment but a few months and i'll pull the rear side windows/windscreen again and do it myself.
Carpet hasn't arrived,im waiting:mad:
Fxxx i'll be glad when this is over:D

They are now as black as your presidents ass:flipoff2:

Yeah baby, right choice!!

I've been sending telepathic messages to you to go with the black, and it worked!!!! Woohoo, I have ESP!!!!

I'll pick my flares up in Brisbane next weekend too. Apparently they're missing a couple of bolts but shouldn't be too hard to replace the hardware side of things.

Scotts old auto rubber in melbourne has the rubber edging if you need it NQ,i got 8 mtrs sent, good quality too.

Well i was all geared up to see the masterpiece this Saturday but someone is lagging behind!! :flipoff2:

Guess i just have to wait.........

and wait...........

and wait...........
till Monday or Tuesday:p

not real good,i was gonna send you a pm but since ya asked, ive been waiting on carpet that has stopped me from from fitting and finishing a few other bits, still not here today,im not happy and neither is the receptionists at the carpet factory! They told me nearly 2 weeks back oh no probs be there in 3 days.
So this arvo i just threw the interior togethor roughly cause i gotta go.
The exterior is finished but i put a self tapper through one rear flare so my mates painting it tonight etc,yes wrong self tapper, too long.
I gotta hit the road and get home, ive got a real estate deal on the go i haven't seen and my babe is lonely;)
Im leaving another car at the wreckers tomorrow,i'll see if he has a battery tray for ya,if so i'll tell him to hold it.
I'll be cruisin through bendigo about 12pm tomorrow night,if ya up i'll meet ya on the main road somewhere best i can do sorry.

photos in 2 days hopefully.

Goldchaser,
Waiting with bated breath, your truck looks great, it reminds e of painting my two-toned 55. The real draw for me though is your replacing the headliner with marine carpet. I am tackling some gutter and pillar rust before it gets worse and should take mine out. Super interested in the alternative to the headliner. Thanks!
Jeff
