Question I have a stock FJ55 1976 (besides a 350 and auto tran). Just received brand new OEM rims from Toyota Japan (15"). I haven't picked my lift kit yet (2" to 3") wanting to keep it as stock looking as possible. I don't like the obvious oh its been lifted on this era.
Do you think I could mount the new wheels and tires before the lift for driving around town? New Tires BFG All-Terrains 33 x 10.5 x 15.
And advice on best brand for lifts?

Wheels and tires are what came with it. 31 x 10.5 x 15 old hard and brittle. The blow out pic was doing 25 and the whole ****ing thing just about came apart. Hence the rush to get my new wheels and tires on it.

I have those rims and tires on my '77 pig. Just click on the link in my signature line. That's an OME 70 series lift which gives you around 2 1/2". You can buy the springs or entire kit from Cruiser Outfitters. You will have to relocate the rear spring hangers if you go this way. Can't remember if it's the front or rear of the rears.........PO had the kit installed.

@cruiseroutfit has the lift kit you want, contact the boys and talk to them Cruiser Outfitters

I don't believe 33" tires will work without a lift.

Post some pictures of your pig to give us a better idea of what we're talking about.
Thank you!

Welcome to the group. Looks like you have a nice wagon. After you get the tires & wheels sorted, what's your plans for it, camping, traveling, coffee shop on Sunday? What's next on the fix up list?
Thank you. All new to this. After the new wheels and tires. I will start on the paint. Original was the Green and White Combo. Haven't decided if I will go back to that? Whoever went to all red they did all the door jams so may just go red to white combo. But everyone that stops to talk about it ways "you are not going to paint it???". if nothing else I have to get rid of the gold. So may just do the white part?
It has a '88 350 and tranny. It doesn't like or want to do 60mph. So need to figure out that solution.
Any input or advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.
