had a good time helping out today...... good food , good friends , nice ride. hope everything works well

I have only been around for 2 years and I am constantly amazed at the level of knowledge, helpfulness and hard work this group exhibits. I'm not able to do much but being able to observe the suspension change will help me next year.

I had a lot of fun today, thanks for those who helped with my window issue (yes Johnny it was the motor)

Did not get any pictures to speak of ... I usually had a beer (I don't recall who brought the beer but THANKS), a cookie (Just WOW!), or a wrench in my hand.

Eric .... my first chance to work on a 70 series ..... enjoyed it. Look forward to seeing what other things happen.

Shandor .... I used to wonder how someone could live in Asheboro and commute to Greensboro. I get it now. If Natalie and I were nestled into that nirvana we wouldn't move either. Beautiful place. (But if you DO sell, just tell us how much to write the check for) :)

Pleasure to meet you Tom! Really sorry about the finger. Look forward to seeing your 40. It didn't occur to me at the time but, dangit, the keys were in my 40 and you should have taken it for a spin, errrr, drive. Next time.

Best to all. A good day. I'm off to pop a couple more Aleve now.

Rice

Although he enjoyed himself, I believe Brodi was disapointed there was no HAM in hamom ;/

Regardless its always too funny to see his reaction to whippet speed. Hate i missed his intro to Hundy.

Thanks mike and Marie for hosting , and Jason and Rice for making quick work of the lift, on the 73 !

WOW!! Thanks so very much to EVERYONE that joined us yesterday for our HAMOM. Marie and I were both overwhelmed and so grateful for how many ONSC'ers volunteered their Saturday to drive out to our little spot in the woods. We topped out at 19 wrench-turners during the day and then one more that evening when Johnny C. brought his cousin Josh over in Moonshine.

I continue to be amazed by you guys. At every ONSC event, everyone just jumps in and started helping each other out. Whatever it is, it's all hands on deck until it's done. We knocked out 2 complete lift kits on both a 60 and 70 and even found time to put new front brake pads on my 60 (thanks Angerhater). I also want to thank a guy who couldn't make it to the HAMOM but was still willing to lend me his R12 hoses to get my 60's A/C all charged up and blowing cold again. I suppose that means summer days in the 90's will stop immediately so we all have Rafael to thank for that.

Welcome in Tom, it was real good to meet you yesterday. I dare you to try to find a greater group of guys and gals ANYWHERE!

Free - loved the picture with Rice in front and James in your rearview. Can't say I've seen a picture of 3 classic FJ's from that perspective before, way cool. And yes it was a 12mm huh?
Capers - I too took a few pics in the garage yesterday but yours are waaaay better. But I did take one showing a halo effect around 3 FJs in the front yard. Funny how a cold camera lens brought outside can do that.
Rushing - real sorry about getting us stuck in the middle of the woods down by the creek with no flashlight. We did finally get back but man that was dark sky last night huh?
6 Overnighters - sorry bout' all of the Jose Cuervo tequila shots around the bonfire. Probably not necessary and we should have stopped after the moonshine and Monster Vodkas huh?.

Again thanks for all the help ONSC gang, Marie and I had a great time seeing all of you!

Few pics from day and night activities.

It's always a good time at Shandor's place. Pet problems kept Sarah and I from getting there on time but there was definitely no shortage of labor. I kept my distance from a wrench until the people who know what they're doing went home. I find that keeps me out of their way and I don't look like such an idiot. I learned a bunch about leaf springs this time. Good times.

Congratulations go out to @tstepp920 for passing his entrance exam with that cooler of refreshments!

It was also cool to see the handoff of many items being mudshipped by various members. I'd like to acknowledge the effort that our members put towards shuttling stuff around the state (or states) for other people. We've got some great folks that often go out of their way to help out and ask for nothing in return.

Weirdest thing of the day...The 1980's must have stopped by and dropped off some pants when we weren't looking.

Shandor's HAMOM was a great time. Mike and Marie are such excellent hosts. The food was good and drink was flowing. In between eating and drinking we actually got a tremendous amount of work done. I'm glad I could be there to lend a hand.

Mike, As for the dark walk back from the creek, no worries! It was fun. I knew you knew the way back so it wasn't a big deal. It was dark as hell out there. I couldn't see my hand in front of my face! I'm not much of a Tequila drinker but I will say that that Jose is damn smooth. It didn't really even need a chaser IMO. Good stuff!

JohnVee and Sarah, Thanks for taking the scenic route home and following behind me. I really do appreciate y'all doing that. I'm still working the bugs out of the Turdle and I felt a lot more comfortable having y'all close by just in case. I hope I didn't slow you down too much.

Everybody else, It was great seeing you. I hope to see you all again real soon.

Dave

Had a blast @77 KROOZER :D Thanks for having us over!!

what a great bunch. My mom came in town that morning so we were later leaving than I had hoped but wow what a turnout. Way more hands than jobs apparently. Just a true testament to the group of folks in this club. Always a pleasure to see you guys. Mike I just wanna know what if finally took to get that last spring hanger bolt out?

@erymer - actually both rear leaf springs were mother effers to get off. The passenger side was brutal but the driver side was even worse. Both sides required cutting the fixed mount pins with a 4" grinder. The driver side required cutting the pin on both sides inside the frame mount. Ahh, the smell of 32 year old rubber bushings burning with sparks of aluminum oxide discs falling in your hair, hard to forget that good time.

@JohnVee - thanks for coming and thanks for bringing Sarah to hangout with Marie. I'm not sure we actually NEEDED anymore pottery from Seagrove but I know Marie had a good time buying more stuff (that I will hide in a cupboard next time she flies out to Colorado Springs to visit family).

Oh and the pants were compliments of Def Leppard's Pyromania tour in OKC in 83. Joe Elliot dropped down to his boxers during the second encore and then threw them to the girl I took to the show. It didn't work out for Joe but that girl "poured sugar all over me" during the ride home from the concert.

Hey Mike, I am sorry I missed it. between work and honey do list it is hard for me to leave during summer weekends. but I am glad you got your a/c charged up and running.

@Roxx - it was real drive driving to work on Monday with this mysterious COLD air blowing out of the dash. @roadstr6 - thx for hooking everything and charging my system. Forrest5000 and I both knew you were the man for the job.

Last Saturday someone, I'm old and can't remember who, made the comment that they could get floor jacks like we were using on the "73" for a good price. I need one, maybe two if the price is right.
