Here is what my just completed 470 has under it. It is a full system of like brand parts.
Total Chaos +2 Expedition front kit and their links in the rear. King shocks all around.
+3 Mcqueen fenders so tires do not stick out.
Roughly 3" front lift & 2" rear lift. 17x8.5, 0 offset Method bead grip wheels. 295/70-17 Toyo Open Country R/T tires. No wheel spacers & not rubbing (BMC & trimmed pinch seams). Roughly 11.75" of travel all around.
Demello front bumper. My rig is using 700 lb springs compensating for the bumper & winch (Smittybilt). I hope that does not make it too stiff.
Tires do not stick out hardly at all. ...KDSS vehicle with the disconnect as per the member who has done it on this site (not Dr KDSS).

Gotta say that looks awesome. IMO that bumper is the best looking one out there. Really slick, ties together with those fenders perfect. Nice build!
Thanks az. While there is a lot of suspension on there, I was going for a simple tidy look. ...The bumper & fenders blend.

That is a niiice setup. You are squared away for the the biggest curbs Starbucks can throw at you ;)

Darn striaght! lol AutoMocha independent coffee stand in my area. 😆
I have some nice trails with some stream crossings in my area, but I also have to keep this '04 cherry. No desert pin striping I hope!
Its not a beater.
Thanks Arailt

I like them a lot so far. Decent tread that is fairly quite on the road. The balanced really well for an AT type tire. I think pretty decent value as well. Unfortunately I don't have much more than that right now as I just got them on.

They look almost like a cross between Wildpeak AT3Ws on the center tread and Duratracs with the shoulder lugs (but not quite as aggressive with the voids).

View attachment 2940275TRD Pro wheels wrapped in Falken Wildpeak A/T3Ws (265/70/17)

I originally subscribed to this thread for some inspirations on which wheels, tires, and lift kits to pair with my GX470, and decided to go with the TRD Pro wheels. I just couldn't resist the price point of these wheels compared to other aftermarket wheels. Also, I can stick to somewhat of an OEM+ theme.

I'm currently waiting on the Eibach Stage 1 Lift Kit, which has been backordered for quite a while... I'm thinking of getting rid of the running boards since the passenger side running board's mounting points seem to have been beat up and the center and rear brackets are bent. I'll be doing some more research on rock sliders in the meantime.
Southern Offroad sliders are nice

285/70r17 K02s, 1.25” spacer. TRD trail teams rims. OME 2” lift with freedom UCA.

Hacked away the fender liners, ripped off the side steps. I’m rubbing on the pinch welds and body mount at full lock.

Ride isn’t too bad, tire noise is fine, waiting on my rear tire carrier so i haven’t even tried to fit the spare in.

Making this post a little earlier than I'd anticipated because I'm welcoming advice on the wheels: get some off-sets, powder coat these, or leave 'em as is.
Current setup:
2006 Lexus GX470, 188k miles
Ironman 4x4 Nitro Gas/ 2.5" lift
Ironman UCAs
Apache Off Road coil conversion kit (Ironman4x4 coils)
285/70/17 BFG KO2's
Factory premium wheels (for now)
Some amazon special bull bar and lights

Not pictured: Victory 4x4 roof rack (in transit) or the NashFab rear ladder

Depends what you plan to do with the truck. I also run the stock wheels w/ spider trax spacers but I know that I might tear them up on rocks etc and don't want to buy bead locks yet so im just waiting. As you said, I''m also considering spraying or powder coating them aswell but might just leave them TBH.

But if you don't plan to scape them up and think you want new rims for style, stance etc, just buy them and don't look back! Just make sure you buy ones you love that are good quality! Im sure its annoying to ship them back if you don't buy them in a store. For me, I know I would benefit from a bead lock rim based on what I do with the truck when im in weekend warrior mode. So if you haven't already, once you decide what you will put the truck through buy rims accordingly.

With the spacers, the stock rim is pushed out 1.25 inches making it sit where a rim of about 8.75in width would sit on the outer edge. But because the rim is actually only 7.5in wide in reality the tire is not spread out as wide as it would be on a 8.75in rim, so you may rub in different areas with wider rims than with spacers even though though the the outer edge of tire would effectively fall in a similar place.

I personally love the wider stance so if you did buy wider rims I'd go with something at least 8.5 in wide, you wont be disappointed! Also, with wider rims I'd advise against running spacers with them, its kind of one or the other I feel, but I'm sure people do it with success - maybe someone can chime in!

Hope this helped!

Thank you so much for this reply- very informative! I have been struggling with understanding the wheel measurements, bore specs, if spacers are in fact bad to run, etc. I don’t drive every day (maybe only a few miles a week at times) but am wanting this truck to be reliable for a x-country road trip while also being a fun hobby. There are tank trails the public can drive on here at Ft Stewart in Savannah, and I also am wanting to take my wife and dogs to some hidden beach campsites. No big rocks or anything magazine photo worthy. I definitely want the wheels to have a wider stance but one of my avid off road Toyo friends advised against spacers. I’ll definitely look at the 8.5” wheels - do you know if these add extra stress on the drivetrain/axels? What offset should I look for to get that “cupped” wheel look?

People seem to like -12 offset, but you could probably go more, you will have to do a body mount chop probably though to get full steering articulation without rubbing though. I had to do it with my setup. The stock wheels are +25 offset for reference, so an 8.5in rim with a -12 offset will be a pretty wide stance, I feel like a lot of people are running this setup.

This diagram shows it well Wheel Specs | Wheel Specialists, Inc. - http://www.wheelspecialists.com/wheel-specs - anything with an offset under stock is likely to put additional stress on the wheel bearings but at the end of the day if you want the look, all the options to get you there will do that other than just going long travel which widens the stance a few inches on its own because everything is longer to allow for more travel, but that's pricey.

Spacers use to be more risky but spider trax are valid and from my research most people have good experience running them, but there are also people who swear to never use them, to each their own I guess, you'll have to do wheel bearings regardless at some point, just a matter of time.

I've had no issues so far with them coming loose or anything and you can always periodically re torque them if you get nervous about it.

I'm considering these Method 305NV in bronze inspired by this member's post (mainly because they look great and he also didn't have to do any spacers or body chopping). The options on DiscountTire for off-set are 0 or 25...I'd want zero right? Would this setup mess with anything long term or require any additions to keep things running smoothly? Also, do bead lock wheels add any additional things to consider as far as maintenance or headaches? Thanks!
