I have an 05 GX. Just ordered 2.5 Robinson lift. Deciding what tire size I can/should go with comfortably. I'm also with TRD sema wheels.

Are the wildpeaks food tires? I've had bfg ko2s on another vehicle before?

What size tires can I fit without scrubbing? I do still have the stock running boards on, haven't decided whether I'm removing.

My ‘05 has a similar-size lift (Ironman Nitro), and I ended up going tall and skinny...255-75/17.
These measure out at 32”, and fit without rubbing or without needing to push or melt any plastic pieces.
And the spare fits as well, though just barely on my KDSS Sport.
I went with KO2’s, as they are offered in a “C” rating which I want for ride quality.
They are very quiet and comfortable, and a good all-around tire.

Thanks

None that are good, but here you go.

Wheels: Factory Style Wheels TRD replicas
17x8 +0 offset
Tires: Cooper Evolution MT 285/70 17
Lift: Dobinsons 2.5”
Front springs: C59-314
Front shocks: GS59-221
Dobinsons UCA59-002K
Rear springs: C59-599
Rear shocks: GS59-701
Dobinsons rear coil conversion WA59-561K
Mods: front bumper trim; cut and pushed front fender liner forward a couple inches; trimmed front of side steps. Tires slightly rub fender liner at the pinch weld when turning at just the right angle so I will have to flatten out pinch weld and take the heat gun to the liner. I don’t need to chop body mount....for now anyways.

Go tall ‘n skinny.
I have 255-75/17, and love them.
IMO, Toyota trucks look better with the 9-10” wide, tall tires.
Hey McDuff123 - I am about to pull the trigger on a GX, and it will need tires soon. It is stock suspension, and I am wondering if the slightly narrower but taller tire will clear stock. Any input or best guesses from your rig? These are basically a 32" but slightly narrower. Will keep them on the stock rims. I'd be hoping to get the tires soon, as I am planning on a trip up to OR in about 3 weeks or so. Would like to take the new rig up if I can!

Stock suspension for now.

General Grabber ATX 275/70/17
Total weight without center caps is 84 lbs, 20 lbs more than my stock setup.
Only required minor adjustment to front liners:
Pulled front of liner forward, hammered the bottom 16” of the seam weld behind the tire and heated/pushed the front edge of the running board about 1.5”.
I don’t think it’s possible to fit a larger tire without actually removing or cutting the running board.

sorry, these are 0 offset, not +25.

side shot? for profile...

2006
203k miles
tires: Firestone Destination AT 255/75/17
wheel: method 313 17x8.5 +0 offset 4.75" backspacing
front: bilstein 6112 coilover (no res) - top setting ~2.5" lift
back: bilstein 5100 (no res) / ironman performance coils TOY056B ~2.5" lift

- had to trim a little off the front side of front fender when i had the stock wheels
- Destination AT tires are near silent...really like them...this is my daily commuter with some road trips for hunting
- just got the wheels - they are 24.7 lbs...not sure what stock wheels weigh...the handling feels little more nimble and rough, but it may be my imagination.
- rear ironman coils are stiffer than what i would like, but i had a deadline to get coils and had to figure it out in one day...looking back i probably would have gone with dobsons as i hear they are smoother.
- next is probably sliders, then roof rack...then front bumper...i like the Demello with bull bar.
- working on a 3D printed tray that will fit into the ride control height slot, and will cover more area than the one you can get on ebay.
- also working on an aluminum box that will fit into the CD changer that i removed. will probably braze the aluminum since i dont weld.

ATBScott...so sorry I didn’t reply earlier. I’m only now seeing this...I didn’t receive any notification that you had replied or quoted me.
Hope the Oregon road trip went well...what did you end updoingfor tires?
If it’s not too late for you, my 255-75/17 ‘s worked with stock suspension, but to be fair, I never taxed anything offroad, and I didn’t stay stock for long, so I can’t comment on how that set-up would work with even some minor flex.

Thanks, and yeah it rubbed in the front on both sides of the fender. Trimmed the back side and moved the front of the liner forward and it’s fine now.
That looks great.
Did you change the rear shocks when you replaced the fronts with Dobinsons? I'm looking to do the same with tricking the bags to start. Wasn't sure if the stock shocks and the new shocks would match on their compression and rebound rate.
