Not much of a post really, but a milestone nonetheless. All pieces of the front clip have reunited for the 1st time in over a couple of years. :bounce:

Same here. Now it's stuck in my head.

Me too! That's funny!

Reunited and it feels so good
Reunited 'cause we understood
There's one perfect fit
And, sugar, this one is it
We both are so excited
'Cause we're reunited, hey, hey

:D

Braving the sub 100f kiln in the garage for as long as is tolerable:frown:

The best bling I have in the engine bay, cleaned up and installed, still looks pretty good: An old custom Optima billet battery tray prototype. Now I can get on with running old and new wires in old and new places.......

And don't forget the white with a black stripe ground wire that goes all over the place AND IS NOT SHOWN IN ANY FSM WIRING DIAGRAM! :crybaby:

Looking good Cliff. Enjoying the thread...

 it is in my FSM

although I don't have that wire anymore

Thanks for the tips. I've got an FSM and the wiring diagrams don't always correlate to my rig. Dug up some more specific stuff on coolermans site too. This Oct 76 vin yet 77 FJ40 has some peculiarity. I will soon be studying the whole set of data one wire at a time.

Pin_Head would be the man for you as far as wiring is concerned, his former rig is closest in vintage

Hey cliff, I have a 10/76 fj40 as well, with pretty well intact factory wiring. Feel free to hit me up

I'll keep you in mind, thanks! I think I know what's what, but I do have a couple of wires hooked to nothing I'm not sure about.

On the progress side: Finished up the heater hoses and reworked my non OEM heater valve setup.

Ok OEM wiring aficionados (Subzali particularly) I have a green w/white strip wire running along the passenger front fender that has been cut 2 places and apparently serve me no purpose at this point. Just curious as to what it may have done before.

It has a factory splice and used to run at least as far as the ground wire in that bundle. Haven't stumbled onto it on any diagrams I have.

There's a GW going to the horn relay on the passenger fender. It also goes to the horn
