Anyone have an aftermarket cross reference number for a fuel inlet hose? Mine is brittle and inflexible so it's the time to replace it while I'm reassembling things.

I researched a bit and the number I came up with wasn't long enough.

I haven't checked to see if I can order from Toyota and wanted to know if anyone had an alternative part number.

Thanks,

Nik

Nik,

Maybe try this one. I had it in the shop.

I'll check it out. Gates #24717 doesn't work. One leg of the 90 is about 8 inches too short.

FYI: Mine on my 76 is 54mm or 2.125" and a 2" hose is very difficult to fit over.

You could go this route, to get some length.

That is very close to what I'm going to do, my plan is to bend a piece of 2" tubing about 18” long to go between the filler and tank and use 6” of 2” hose on each end to couple it together, Ill convert the tank and filler to accept 2” hose. The issue I was running into is finding 54mm hose that would (A) stand up to diesel or the new gas (B) or be flexible enough to make the tight bend.

Here's a picture of the 71 neck, same as J Mack's 76. I did measure that 45 degree piece and it was @ 53 mm ID.

J Mack,

That filler neck in the picture, is from a 71 and 2" fits on it. If you want to try it, I'll sent it out.

I appreciate it Ron but I was able to run mine in the bead roll and remove the factory bead and reduce the OD slightly and I’m able to get the 2” over it now.

The new gasohol blends of ethanol and methanol seem to wreak havoc on the rubber hose and from what I read the new diesel is just as bad, I don’t want to be laying under my pig replacing hoses every year so I’m trying to research what works best.

I took a look at my Pig today to investigate the gas smell and was surprised the fuel fill hose does not have a hard 90 degree bend in it.

It makes me wonder if one got some straight 54mm hose and maybe ran some spring inside if you could make the bend w/o it collapsing.

Either that or the Ige idea of splicing in a 90 degree metal elbow w/ 54mm OD?

I gave in and ordered the 90 degree elbow(Gates 24717), a joiner coupler and a straight section of 2 inch hose from fillernecks.com. I'll report back once I try it.
