Also, if anyone has good part numbers, that would be most welcome! I understand I need to get seals, as well? If so, also need part numbers for those, and quantities. Thanks!

Anybody?

I recently pick-up a set of front wheel bearing kits from @cruiseroutfit, they were Timkin's which I believe is OEM.

OEM bearings & races are incredible tough, even pitted hold up well. If pitted or damaged in any way they are considered none serviceable. Cleaning & inspecting is only way to known for sure. Chances are you'll see damage to the claw washer (which can be flipped), also the hub flange, cone washers & snap ring. Loose bearings and wide snap ring gap has a sawing effect on hub flange teeth. You'll probable see some wear damage at back of spindle as well, were large bearing rides/butts up to. Make sure to check & lube the axle bushing & needle bearings.

BTW: If replacing brake pad be sure to have rotors turned if not replacing.

Thanks, @2001LC , and great pics. That last one of the spindle, is that football shaped groove worn in, or designed into, the system? Looks very even and symmetrical, but I have never seen that before.

Double check all. Mine's an '06 I think they are the same.

Personally I go overboard and have everything on hand to replace all of it, it's my daily driver.
Minimum I say claw washer and both axle nuts, both bearings, snap ring, and oil seal.
I bought bearings from rock and the rest from camelback. They F-ed up my order so I won't order from them again.
You can absolutely do both sides for less than 200. Don't set them loose or your claw washer looks like the one above. And your inner bearing may turn out like the one below. It's even more warped than it looks.

inner oil seal 9031170011 one per side
inner bearing and race 9008036098 one per side
outer bearing and race 9008036067 one per side

snap ring kit from cruiser outfitters #FAWB9807TKIT (6 in kit, one needed per side)

drive flange 434210060 one per side
drive flange gasket 4342260070 one per side
claw washer (thrust washer) 9021442030 one per side
adjusting nut, axle nut 4352160011 two per side
star washer 9021542025 one per side

cone washers 4232360030 six per side
plate washers 9020110075 six per side
hex nuts 9017010039 six per side

That (brass bushing foot ball shape groove) by design, I fill it with grease.

You can see some marks/nicks/scratches in brass bushing. That one had both seal missing and dirt was getting in. As long as flat it's ok, but the brass bushing thickness will effect the snap ring gap. As brass bushing wears, snap ring gap increases. If limit hit on available snap ring size (thickness), then bushing will need replacing. Other areas that effect snap ring gap is on spindle where large bearing rides, also large bearing and race, hub flange where snap ring butts to and tip of axle in grove for snap ring.

Cruiser outfit, u rock.
Ordering mine soon. I've been stressing about these

My pleasure. We take the guess work out of the parts purchase and add instructions too!

i ordered the c clip kit and gaskets to do mine but before i had the chance put on larger tires and now i can hear a rotational noise on constant radius turns in both directions. Not sure if its a bearing growl of rotor contacting dust shield. Either way im guessing the bearings were never touched in its 160k life and will be ordering the full bearing kits too.

Thank you guys who chimed in with pictures and part numbers. It was very helpful. I ended up reaching out to Cruiser Outfitters, and they are sending me a complete kit for both front wheels. I will do it up right when the parts get here, and feel good for miles to come, especially since it's an occasional vehicle now, and no longer my daily work transportation. Now she can live a life of relative luxury.

I am working on my bearings for the first time and found the following Youtube video really helpful:

The guy walks through the whole process with some tips and tricks. For those of you that have done this before, I'd be interested to see if you think he is doing anything wrong or harmful.

This youtube video, should be a lessen in how to improperly use and rune tools, and how not to do a wheel bearing job. Just in first five minute I saw ~5 things not to do. I would have thought he worked on the one I just had to redo, had he not had the 54mm socket.

Thanks 2001LC. I read the thread you linked to, but what specific things would you recommend doing differently from the video?
Sorry I've got to run out right now, so don't have time to outline. Read through the many threads on wheel bearings, axle hub flange and snap ring gap. Then get a copy of any (98-07 wheel bearing are all the same) 100 series FSM (in mud) and follow it to the letter.

Come back here, or any wheel bearing thread or start thread on your wheel bearing of your own. Ask questions and if I don't reply, PM pointing to your question(s).
