Has anyone ever seen these fog lights on a 45 before? I was wondering when they became available and whether we would have ever seen them on a 45 series? I think they would look nice on an LV. I got this pic from Trollhole on the 55 forum.

Merbes,

For what it's worth, I had a set that came mounted on an 83 45LPB. One was missing the heavy glass lens, which I have replaced.

I found that the "gasket" between the lens and the housing is a poorly made afterthought--thin and flimsy, yet necessary to keep the water out.
Not real impressed with the housing, but the real glass lens and the cast brackets are top quality.
Obviously the glass can be broken and the bulbs were not halogen in mine.

Don't know if these were dealer-installed, or what specific models or markets used them.
Hope this helps a bit!

I forget, it's been a while but I tried getting some from my local dealer to no avail. Ended up getting them from another dealership somewhere in Minnesota or Washington state....Landpimp should know.:) Anyhow they should be listed under the fj40 cat. for sure.

those are not fog lights, they are marking lights.

According to this you might need to look for a slightly different style of fog light

Yup, you got em from Al at Titus Will toyota in WA, but any dealer can order them. I am still laughing about the person(who I will not name to protect him) that sent me the pic of the fog lights(1st pic on this post) and asked me what the part # was.......LOL :D

wont sware to it but I think I am the one that dug em up and found you could get them a few years before, those were in my days of reading the old parts books everynight and asking Al to run part #'s (but I also invented the interweb and TEQ....so ;)

Yes they were optional for all 40 series(and I think 55), but I really dont think they were added to any or many US 40's......even though in the US parts book and we can get them, why they are in the US I have no clue but there are more in Japan.

I have a set on my 45LV and 82 Fj40, neat lights, but try to find a replacement bulb ;)

on my 40 I leave them on all the time, looks sharp and its kinda like a daytime running light

I totaly forgot I about the bracket....and forgot I had a set from Steve.

I just mounted them to the bumper, drilled the stock hole a bit bigger.....

John/Landpimp didn't tell you besides the bulb being hard to find the brackets are just as hard. Here is a link to a tread with the brackets in it. This should be page 6 of the tread and starts at the bottom. If you read thru the next couple pages you will find a picture of them mounted on IDave's FL45LPB.

I gave MOT the part number to see if there were any in Japan. He couldn't find any. But he could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure I could find a bulb for it. But I bought two sets of lights just incase;)

Thanks for your help. MOTS working on a fog lamp switch.

Brackets are another story.

I think I asked Daniel Stern about the bulbs, think he said he could get them.....will have to check my old emails.

chances are the orignal bulbs will outlive us......they are only 35watt and as we have seem there are 40 year old Kioto headlights still working

did you check with Owens Exports for the light brackets? thats where I got mine(that i have not used)

I had the dealer/distributor here in Guatemala run those numbers and they didn't have anything either.

I just pulled the box they came in. It says Titus Will Ford Toyota Scion in Tacoma Wa. It does not have 800# on the box but it has a local number, 475-4151. Back in Jan of 06 I tried getting them from the Toyota dealership here in San Antonio and they said no...I couple of days later I ordered them from Al.:)

From my understanding there are certain dealers who can get them and some that cannot.

I ordered this last set this past wed. and had them friday. I hope they are not out. I found a company who made repros but unfortunatly they quit making them about 6 months ago.

:lol::lol: John found this active part # with Al at Titus Will. Fact. Got a kick out of that other thread. :) Give Al the business, he can also get one barrel carb floats and TEQ jerry cans. Not that anyone else can't do it, but credit where credit is due..................... :grinpimp:

Al is such a good guy that he will tell you to try you local dealership 1st, if not he will order them for you :)

I have had Al run 100's of old part #'s.....sometimes we get lucky
