As far as I know, I have the lights in the factory location - it depends though which EPC diagram you look at. Some show the light mounting on the bumper itself, though other diagrams locate the fog lamp back on the chassis rail, like I have, and mount aux. marker lights on the bumper. It's a bit hard to tell on the left hand diagram below which lamps are 'clearance' and which lamps are fog. I'm thinking that the larger ones are the fog lamps and the smaller ones the clearance lamps, given the size of the marker lamps incorporated into the bib on early 40 models.
I looked at the options I had, and went with the mounting atop the bumper gusset as a well-protected location.
The brackets seem tailor made for those particular mounting positions, as the lower sweep of the bracket covers over the rear mounting bolt for the triangular bumper gusset. If I went and mounted them on the rearmost gusset bolt position, they would be up against the bib, so that's not the right spot.
The winch is from an HJ61, so I made a few small changes to get it to fit, and those changes are a little different than the factory mounting in terms of the width of the front angle iron mount, which I narrowed over the stock part. Otherwise the location is correct and the rear mounting of the winch sits at the correct height on the Toyota angled cast wedge blocks. The yoke is centered in the hole in the front cross-member and turns smoothly.
