Wow thanks for getting back so quickly. I am interested in the front mounts. I have a four x four slider that I am hoping to build off of. How did you decided how high to jack the body up before attaching the mount, to find the proper clearance? Right now the body is resting on the frame. I know that that can't be the way it should be. I'll post some pics tomorow to get you advice, if you can help.:D

Performance cam

So has anyone used the high performance cam from Man A Fre. I am think about getting one as my cam is shot and not usable along with the lifters. What can see in changes to the performance of the 1F motor?

I have had bad luck with jtoutfitters a few times. I don't use them anymore. That is all I am going to say but if you want opinions check on the vendor section. Lots of people dislike them.

Motor

So my motor is all done at the machine shop. The guy did not call me to tell me what was need to have the motor fixed. So with the owner of the shop, not calling me, has rebuilt my cylinder head and that was one thing I wished he did not so now I have to pull the head apart to replace the springs. So my question is there any good way of removing the springs without losing the parts? And yes I have heard the stories of the e-clips flying across the room (never to be found).

Just finish the 24 Hour Mountain bike race and in recovery mode so the Project is on hold for some time as I well be Graduating High School then Coeur D Alene Ironman race at the end of June. So the Project is on hold till june is over.

Well finished the Coeur D Alene Ford Ironman now to tackle the Ironpig. Well all the parts for the engine are in now just have to finish the engine bay paint and paint the frame rails then the motor goes back in. So glad to be finish with the training for Ironman.

Well things have been slow on the project keep finding things that dont work so work on the pig is getting harder and harder as the more I dig the more things that break.

Sorry I haven't posted much really been hammering the project to get it running.
The cool part is that I only need a few things before I turn the key and hope she starts.
So what do you guys think about distributors?
This one of the last things that need to be replaced and the funny part is the Distributor that came with the rig came out of a 1957 chevy so this motor was really based off the inline 6 236 chevy motor.
So what Distributor you guys think would make for a good replacement?

Thanks guys I already have contacted him. What are your thoughts about a GM 2 Jet Rochester carb? Any pros and cons?
The pic is before picture of the engine bay I will post after pic some time next week

Well the rig run now but only for a few seconds. I am not sure what to do to tune the carb to get the rig running longer so i can use a timing light to set timing. So my question is i can get the rig running but seem to run fine but starts to die like it's not getting enough fuel but when I get on the gas it sputters and back fires out the card then smokes out the carb when it's dead. So what should I do now I lost on how to tune the Rochester carb.
