Working on a pick up for the Baton still but I will of course keep you posted once I get it! Flagstaff would work if it doesn't make it to @kblomquist or @DSRTRDR first! Once I have it I'll see when I can hand off again and let it continue to work it's way west!

I have the Toolbox Baton - ready to hand it off over the Labor Day weekend

We had originally planned to go camping this weekend, but will have to stay here now. The next two weekends after that we are fairly busy as well. This puts us to SEPT 16-17 weekend for a handoff. Of course, we could do it earlier, but we wouldn't be able to meet as far away as we'd have to do the round trip all in one day. I really prefer to drive the 40 no more than 4-5 hours in one day, so that puts us within about 120-140 radius of Vegas. If one of the hand off can wait till the 16-17, we're still up for the Prescott/Flagstaff area.

Being that @Reznugget will have one baton, and @DSRTRDR will have the other, perhaps the baton from Claudia can go south of Vegas down to the Yuma area and into San Diego, while the @Reznugget baton can come through Vegas after he gets it. That way they don't follow the same path and there's more exposure in the southwest.

Either way works though, let me know!

so, who from Cali or western Arizona wants to meet to receive the Baton on Labor Day weekend ? or somebody else from Nevada ?

most places on the California-Arizona border would be doable for me :steer:

or is there someone from Arizona going west ?

If the southern toolbox ends up going from Phoenix to Southern California, @Reznugget and I will get the briefcase close to Southern Nevada, eventually through Las Vegas and maybe up the eastern side of the Sierras.

if recall correctly, there aren't a whole lot of services at the southern entry of Joshua Tree ?

I guess we could make it work

Nearest service would be Indio or Palm Springs/Desert. I don't think there are many services along that whole entire section of the 10. (Thankfully this can be my first major test of the diesel conversion I did)

I can take it to Lancaster the 1st weekend in October, or up the Eastern Sierra as far as Bishop in the middle of the month.

Mark my plan was to get to Mono Lake so that is not too far from Bishop...

and in preparation for handing off the Baton, more pictures from its travel within Arizona:

@DSRTRDR Claudia where did you take those pics? So scenic!!!

Tonto National Forest, in an area off SR87 (Beeline Highway) by the exit for Sugarloaf/Four Peaks - the big ocotillo is on FS road 160 (the carsonite marker is on the very left of the first big ocotillo pic)

Good pics! You should post them in the other thread that documents the travels of the batons.

I did post in the Travelogue as well: Our Travelogue... - (not so) sorry for crossposts :)
