I now have the toolbox baton in Pasadena, CA. Let's plan on doing a hand off with someone nearby this time. Here are some pictures with Claudia and myself doing the handoff.

sweet diesel you have

Hey Ken,

Let's try and meet up on the weekend of the 22nd. Would you be down to meet me in Pasadena? I know that @65swb45 wanted to possibly snag this one as well. Have a feeling he's out in the back country for the extended weekend.

Yes, I would like to participate.
No , I did not manage to get out of town for the holiday.
The 22nd is still a work day for me, so Burbank is better than Pasadena.
Hint: Mark's Off Road is one of the known meccas of the Landcruiser world.

It's sounding like we should have all of the local 40s come out to Mark's Off Road for a BBQ on Friday, haha.

I can bring in a gas BBQ and an easy up if you'd like to do that.

Who all could we invite? :hmm: I don't know many people with 40s in LA

If enough people show up, I'd love to do that.

I wonder how many of the local lurkers are reading this thread?:hmm:

It's headed my way :bounce::bounce2::bounce2::bounce: :steer:
This is better than the ice cream truck and the mail wagon all rolled into one. Bring it on!!!

:beer::popcorn:

Ok, I put the BBQ idea on my warehouse fire thread. That should raise the visibility.

Is the 22nd a 'hard' date for you?

Either date would work for me. Weekdays there is NO street parking here, and I can fit about four rigs off street at the moment. Enough for a handoff, but not for much of a BBQ. Saturday the streets are basically clear, and a lot less folks have to choose between work and play.

So far I have not reached out to anyone, because I think the date is the first thing to settle. I suppose I could pick up the baton from you on Friday and still have a 'baton BBQ' on Saturday. But I'd really like to include you if possible.

We can start the baton bbq on Saturday around 12. I can hand it off then as well, but I'll have to skidaddle soon after.

@65swb45 - Mark you indicated you could drive north to Bishop. @John McVicker are you still in? John is in Lone Pine, which could shorten your drive a bit. John, we are planning a leg through Yosemite to Mono Lake from the Bay Area - stopping at @orangefj45 Valley Hybrids on the way of course (if we end up leaving Friday). Can you shuttle the baton from Lone Pine to Mono Lake? We are looking 10/13-10/14 or 10/14-10/15. Thanks! @CaliFJ

My current plans are to head as far north as Palmdale around Oct-8, and as far as Big Pine somewhere around the 18th/19th.

Sounds good to me. I will start spreading the word.

I've not kept up with this event...sorry. But yes, I should be able to take the baton up to Mono Lake. Let me catch up on this thread and look at my schedule to be sure. Will get back to this thread in a day or so...and btw I'm in Big Pine which is about 40 miles north of Lone Pine.
