Just got word that @Reznugget is interested in joining the fun. After I meet up with @POTATO LAUNCHER, my tentative plan would be to head west (keeping north of I-40), and meet up with @Reznugget north of Gallup, NM along US 491 (for some unknown reason it was decided to change the number from US 666 a while back). The next leg would get one or two batons to the Winslow, AZ area, well into northern Arizona. I'm still hoping someone from the southern Colorado or the Four Corners area will chime in, to get one of the batons headed up into Colorado or Utah.

I will stay posted with how my vehicle is running in the near future, but assuming all is well when the baton comes through I'd love to join and shuttle through the rez to Winslow or up north to Colorado/Utah if someone wants to meet me there. Sounds like a lot of fun and there are a handful of spots I am really excited to take my 40 once I finally get it home here on the rez so any direction works well for me!

Is it possible to request which Baton goes to Co./Ut? The South Surrogate Baton would do proud the folks who got it along--all of us would love to be at Moab, but for the time off/$/travel it's not possible. If the Baton from here could make that journey, we would all be at least partially assuaged, even if we can't be there in person.

Wich of the three is the one?

Not the briefcase or the red toolbox IIRC.

So then, the southern one is this one?

For reference, here are all three together (in @cbmontgo 's truck, not mine):

OK thanks, that's the one I'll give to @graham5david this Saturday then.

The other two will go to @Fireman and thence to @POTATO LAUNCHER on the Tuesday after.
@sggoat asked if the beige toolbox could head towards Moab (may be possible if someone can meet me somewhere in NW New Mexico and carry it in that direction), but @graham5david is taking the southern route, so @POTATO LAUNCHER would get the beige toolbox plus one of the other batons. If I had to I could hold onto the beige toolbox until someone steps up to the plate to take it into Colorado or Utah.

OK, I will give the other (red) tool box to @graham5david and keep the others for the two more northerly routes.

trying to decide if I should put my top back on or just get a little wet if it rains.

I would usually have my top off by now, but I don't have anywhere to put it this summer so it's still on. Too hot for the Texas summer, but I'm stuck with it until I can build the new house and reclaim my shop space from the storage that it is now.

picked up the baton today. Had a great time meeting @1911. Over 400 miles traveled in my fj40 today. it was awesome to see that it could still do it. I will meet up with @AZOKIE soon and keep this headed west.

Hey guys, real interesting gas station there! I haven't seen those kind of "pumps" for a very long time. Might have been on a farm back in the 50's when I was just a whippersnapper. Anyway, sure wasn't in a regular gas station for the time. They definitely look in better shape than what I remember seeing back then.
