Looks like the batons are bringing more and more folks together!. Thanks to everyone for the pics--

Someone just pointed out this thread. It doesn't look like it's going anywhere near Denver but if something happens, Annie can take it about 100 miles out, although she's a it slow and it would require side roads

If you can get Colorado 40 owners involved you might be able to pass one of the three along. Would be proud to hang onto one and transport it to the first annual Solid Axle Summit in Ouray in late August.
Anyone, Bueller?

I'm potentially down, based on timing, I'm in the Memphis, TN area.

it's already past that area, currently down in Texas headed west.
Thanks - I wasn't sure based on the thread (hadn't read all 37 pages).

Cool idea!

@1911 & @graham5david need to coordinate to get one of these batons heading south to me or it will be up to 4Cruisers to deliver in west central New Mexico

So awesome

If you're making a list, I'd use an excel sheet to mark down people, their location and their contact information so we can get some 40 owners to do the deed of the hand-off.

If one baton heads south via @graham5david and @AZOKIE, and I get the other two from @POTATO LAUNCHER, I may be able to get one up close to the Four Corners area so someone can head into southern Utah, the other through central/northern Arizona via @Living in the Past and/or ??? Or I can take the third baton up along US 285 towards Antonito for a central Colorado leg (through Salida or ???).

I haven't kept up with the responses to this thread from folks farther west and north, but I'd be very surprised if there weren't people in central Colorado, the Front Range, and the Western Slope that wanted to participate. Not to mention northern Utah, especially the Wasatch Front.

OK, just waiting for schedules to line up now. @graham5david and I are making plans to meet this coming Saturday (May 20th), and pass-off a baton for a southern route. We are 300 miles apart, so it will be a nice little jaunt for both of us.

The other two will go northwest from here to @Fireman and @POTATO LAUNCHER . Just waiting for days off of work to coincide.

Edited to add: Tuesday, May 23rd is now the day to move the other two batons.

Just got word that @Reznugget is interested in joining the fun. After I meet up with @POTATO LAUNCHER, my tentative plan would be to head west (keeping north of I-40), and meet up with @Reznugget north of Gallup, NM along US 491 (for some unknown reason it was decided to change the number from US 666 a while back). The next leg would get one or two batons to the Winslow, AZ area, well into northern Arizona. I'm still hoping someone from the southern Colorado or the Four Corners area will chime in, to get one of the batons headed up into Colorado or Utah.

Is it possible to request which Baton goes to Co./Ut? The South Surrogate Baton would do proud the folks who got it along--all of us would love to be at Moab, but for the time off/$/travel it's not possible. If the Baton from here could make that journey, we would all be at least partially assuaged, even if we can't be there in person.
