So if you want to help post away.

Nice reference for the early split case, Mark!

You still have the ability to edit, Marshall? I was thinking maybe just using Woody's wiki is the way to go about this ultimately? Each tech forum would need to link to the wiki (because I am positive nobody looks at that link in the top nav bar).

(btw, I started a project in '97 on my web server, but lost interest early.. this was way before wiki's existed. just copying from LCML posts at the start... http://130.94.161.162/lcfaq.html)

I've got a database for all the cross reference bearing for different manufactures. Problem is it only works with the program which doesn't allow for copy and pasting. It's an access database that has a password. I need someone to crack it so we can get all our information out easily.

Anyone want to give it a shot I send you a link.

Wiki will be the way to go eventually. But I think we need to get the format down before putting it there. Plus only about 5% of Mud even knows about Wiki.

I added some of the later stuff. Going to have to figure out how to label H41, 42, 55 trannys along with any differences for the 3b sides of those. I'm going to figure out the Toyota numbers and then start working on cross overs.

It is a very much "build it and they will come" deal. I have pushed wiki at work for non security sensitive info and after a couple years have a fairly strong following (they still don't collaborate much.. baby steps). The trick is have a reason to draw them..

If every Tech forum here had a sticky post with one link pointing at wiki pages for FAQ-related info, it would be a done deal. Not that hard to convert FAQ posts into wiki info, but all the forum mods would have to buy into the concept, and for the last few years a lot of FAQ builders are content to just make FAQs that are links to posts instead of capturing the actual information. links to links to links are always a fun time. :-/

In a more general sense, it is insane the amount of excellent info wikipedia has related to toyotas, engines, and drivetrains.

I figure once I get this done I can just copy and pasted.

On another note I figured out the database. Now just have to figure out how to extract the info.

I do database stuff so if you have credentials to get in there I can get the data out in a way that makes sense.

Anyone know what the oem bearings are for transmission and T-case a 1968? I live in Indonesia and need to do a complete rebuild, but I can't order one of the nice sets from a USA-based store like SOR or cruiser outfitters, so I need to order them piecemeal :(
