The top is coming along.
Here is a pic of the rear quarters. I used some rubber gasket that fit the lip nicely. Also used the Tenax snaps to secure the bottom of the quarter to the tub.
The gasket is called Xtreme Seal Edge Seals= link Xtreme Seal Edge seals

This was a test patch, just to see how the gasket would sew.

@gwalt584 That top is looking awesome!! I think I should bring mine down to you!! :)

fjdiesel, bring it on down!!!!

I will have to say that the top has been the single most time consuming part of this project. It took over 10 hours just for this one side.
There are 33 individual parts to the side window alone.

Anthony, AntFJ, said that he enjoyed sewing on his top. I will have to agree. he was great inspiration for me building the top.

The top itself was a bulky challenge, my sewing table is an air hockey table and the top being 10' long and 6' wide made it a beast to handle. Finished the top weighed approximately 30 Lbs. The air hockey table is perfect for the smaller door tops and windows. I use the air holes in the table to help get the parts laid out correctly.

The side window will zip on each side to roll up and it has elastic straps and snap buckles to hold it up. it also has a horizontal zipper across the top if complete removal is desired.

Becareful, I may take you up on that! I love your attention to detail on the top! The gasket, tenax snaps, mounting to the aluminum tub. Keep up the good work and thanks for the pics, I am gonna try to use your ideas on mine as well. I should be starting on the top this spring.

Amazing.

May I suggest stainless steel struts to replace the cedar stick... :D

The top is finished!
I’ve got to paint the hood and install interior lights.
I also want to put air bags in the rear coils.
