I am working on rebuilding the knuckles now. Just cleaned up everything today. Waiting on the wheels bearings to arrive. Rebuilding the knuckles is like the Toyota baptism for land cruisers from what I gather. LolThere are alot of good led sources. I used SuperBrightLEDs.com . I was looking at your list and wondering if you considered rebuilding the knuckles up front while you are doing all this other stuff. The front wheel bearing kit is good if thats all you want to do, but the knuckle rebuild kit rebuilds everything from the inner axle seal out. I'm just saying.......Most of us get our new cruiser messy knuckle job, intro to ownership, right up front. Worst part is cleaning all the parts.
I dig a little rust and patina. I am thinking about cutting the bottom rockers out and putting in rockers guards.Looks like a fun project! Lots of us here get our trucks mechanically sound and worry about rust later (or never). Once you start cutting rust you'll find more and she'll be down for months. 60's look good with patina and warts.
Thank you sir![]()

It’s very satisfying. A lot of cleaning. I ended up buying a whole case of brake clean. And I’m happy I work at a paper mill so I could get all the paper towels I need.@chandlerhayes01 Great work getting after those knuckles. It's a pretty satisfying, zen-like piece of work.
